What is you strategies and how did it work out?

I ran a Facebook AD campaign to promote a FACEBOOK Event.
I had about 10 People say, I go and nobody showed up!!

SO HOW would I run it next time.
1. Get a website on which people can sign up through.
(2. People have to PREPAY)
3. Run Ad Campaign that runs on Facebook / Clicks to website
