I have been having an interesting experience while performing Small Universe sitting. As I get into the second round on I can feel my body start to rock or pulse or bounce in the chair. I feel a slight reduction in this sensation while pushing the energy from the Lower Dantian to the bladder and then the movement begins again as I get to the bottom of the torso on.

I sense this is Chi energy being activated and produced.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Isn't it wonderful to know that your body is healing through your own work, and that you can actually feel it? Until I started practicing SFQ I had no idea about just how out of touch I was with my body - and I thought I was pretty healthy.

Yes your qi energy is being activated and it's probably moving through some blockages which is why you get the movement.

In my experience, the harder the rocking, pulsing, bouncing (or any other very interesting movements or pain that you may yet experience), the stronger the blockage. Trust the qi and go with it whatever funny positions or movements it puts you through - it's really worth it.

I'm told that qi in a very healthy body with little or no blockages, flows deeply, fluidly like a beautiful river (I'm not there yet but looking forward to it).

kdefro, Master Lin says that when you experience these physical sensations, be they pleasant or not, that is the best time for healing, so stay with your meditations.

Like Jetay said, it is exciting to increase your awareness of yourself and to experience the movement of qi and know that it is a healing.

I say all of this without every having felt anything like you describe during the small universe. I don't know if I'd say I feel qi as a river, but I find that each cycle of the small universe is calmer, slower, deeper, more relaxing than the previous one. That said, I've experienced movement and even some unpleasant sensations while doing SFQ, but it's all been for my betterment.

Thank you both for responding to my post. To me, it doesn't feel like a blockage but more like a surge of energy that is bouncing through my body. Then again, as healthy as I am I suppose I have blockages too.

Smiles,
Kevin
