I have read somewhere that there was a famous experiment where students were photoreading law books or something using computer screens. I also caught a glimpse of paul mckenna the british hypnotist doing the experiment. The claim was that they were all photoreading at thousands of words per minute with 70% comprehension! Now I look at that and think : did they activate the material by superreading and dipping/rapid reading before they took the comprehension test or did they get tested after just photoreading phase? If learning is in layers, then how can you get such a high score (if in fact it did not involve activating)? Also I have read that photoreading just sounds like Tony Buzans Mind Map Organic Study Technique, but without the photoreading stage, so therefore is the claim that photoreading a better process than this? I may sound negative or sceptical but I am on a journey to build my confidence in photoreading so I want to eliminate any nagging negative thoughts. Kind regards dmlocke

Their experience allowed them to let the answers come up. They built the body mind connection by using the system. That is spontaneous activation where they don't have to Superread and dip for answers to multiple choice and true or false questions. Anyone can play with that and see for themselves how well they have developed their body mind connection. Get someone to help you with a book they have read but you have not. PhotoRead the book and have them ask you some multiple choice true or false questions. Have you ever played the game where you have a group of people one person at the beginning of the group whispers something to one person and then that person whispers the message to the next person and so on. The last person says the message and it's nothing like what the first person said. You read... that it sounds like....???? No what they were telling you is that it is an organic approach to reading. Uses the mind the way the mind functions naturally. It's not the linear approach to reading. Mind Mapping is useful in PhotoReading in fact we encourage you to apply mind mapping and build the information in layers rather than trying to get it all at once. Mind mapping is a useful tool on it's own. PhotoReading is a useful tool on it's own. Combined you can take their benefits further. Then try the system and see. It doesn't matter one why or the other if you have confidence in PhotoReading. You just need enough willingness to give it a go anyway. If you swim or ride a bike... how did you ever acquire the skill? There is greater risk for personal injury with either of these skills. If you give PhotoReading a honest go. Do the exercises as given in the course material you will know how PhotoReading works and you will see that it can help you get your reading done 3 times faster right from the beginning. If you decide not to give PhotoReading an honest go... because of fears and doubts try learning the system but not follow through on the material as given. Try and short cut it straight away to avoid some of the experiences the course teaches then you'll learn PhotoReading doesn't work that way. Never the less you've not lost the skills you already have. I do recommend one thing... forget what you saw with Paul McKenna and what you've read. They are experienced PhotoReaders. They learned and know the system with some experience behind them. Not everyone will need to be able to do that. You just need PhotoReading to help you get your reading done in less time than it takes now. Keep that in mind when you set about learning the system. What do you need from it. Alex
