I just finished reading a pre-release version of the latest book from Higher Balance. “Bending God: A Memoir” written by Eric Robison, a member of the Higher Balance staff. This book will have a limited release in December through Higher Balance and a full release (Amazon.com, bookstores, etc.) in March 2007. The book details the first four months of the author’s relationship with Eric Pepin, that occurred over the summer seven years ago, in and around Los Angeles, California.
Let me say, that overall the book absolutely stands alone in many ways. The book is fabulous. It is enjoyable, entertaining, and informative. First, you do not have to be a Higher Balance devotee to read and enjoy the stories. The stories are enjoyable, mesmerizing and told in a way that completely draws you in. The first hand experiences alone are worth the price of admission, but the author also relates stories he was told by older students along the way. For beginning students, the book also lays out a framework of nearly the entire landscape of knowledge that Eric Pepin teaches in the Higher Balance expansion modules, with only a few notable exceptions. For Higher Balance’s Star Reach participants and advanced students, there are little nuggets of information in almost every chapter not currently laid out in any other format.
The sum total of these things is very enjoyable and entertaining book that will suck you in and keep you turning the page until the very end. I don’t want to spoil the plot, but the last chapter of the book is every bit as dramatic the first chapter. And chapter one begins with a disembodied floating head. Along the way, the book is filled with spiritual information and hard won knowledge. The information and knowledge is enough to keep students studying, thinking about and reflecting on for years. At least one early chapter of the book is so filled with spiritual knowledge that is that some effort is required to keep going. I do not know if the final version of the book will have this chapter re-worked. But I think it may be important to keep this chapter in its current version to maintain the integrity and structure of the knowledge presented in the book.
This book makes answering the question; if civilization were going to collapse and only one thing from Higher Balance could be saved and passed on to future generations, what would it be, a very difficult question. Until now the answer almost certainly had to be the Foundation course. Now there is some doubt. Some might choose this book instead of the Foundation course.
I highly recommend this book to all my friends, spiritual and non-spiritual alike.
I also wanted to include some more personal information about my reading of Eric Robison’s book. I did not include this information above, because I wanted that part of the review to stand on it’s own to people are or are not part of Higher Balance.
I read the 352-page in about 16 hours over two days. When published this book will likely be much longer, perhaps 450 or 500 pages. Time seemed to alter during my reading of the book and it probably took much longer to read that a book of that length normally would for me. I realized during the last half of the reading that my consciousness was shifted during much of the time. When reading some of the more hair-raising stories in the book, I was also able to tune into the feelings, emotions, audio and visual content of people actually present. I could practically live the events put down on the pages.
After finishing I tried out a technique from the book of walking with my hands out like radar dishes, instead of in my pockets. I noticed a change in the way my energy was sent out and an improvement in the amount of information I could gather. That evening I had a stomach ache, like I had a brick in my stomach. After reviewing the possibilities, I realized that what I had was likely a psychic hangover.
For those that do not know, a psychic hangover is the body’s physical reaction to your tonal coming back from a high closer to the ‘do’ vibration of the planet. The body does not know what this feeling is, so the body interprets the feeling as being sick. And then your body acts sick. This had happened to me and many others after the last Higher Balance retreat in Portland.
The fact that a book can affect my tonal (vibration) this much is remarkable. Listening to Eric’s voice on the audio CDs can sometimes shift my consciousness, but I have never an effect anywhere near as powerful as from this book. And I would have expected the book to have less effect than the spoken word, because the tonal (information) content of words written on paper is usually much less than tonal (information) content of the spoken word.
This experience makes this book, in my opinion, the most powerful book ever written.
