I must say that I am surprised that you have trouble with the tapes hissing... The paraliminals have never given me any trouble with my personal cassette player. LSC even suggest nothing more than a cheap $20 cassette player is required to listen to their paraliminals.
Dana advise to use Dolby B to reduce tape hiss reminded me of something that my tecno friend had once told me some time ago that "dolby B this is industry standard". So I checked to confirm.
quote:
Dolby B-type noise reduction was developed in 1968 to address the hiss of slow-speed consumer tape-recording formats, such as 3-3/4 inches per second open-reel, compact cassette, and, later, the stereo linear tracks on VHS video cassette tape.
quote:
Dolby B-type noise reduction is now the standard in tens of millions of cassette decks, mini-component systems, boom boxes, personal portables, and car stereo components; it provides 10 dB of noise reduction above about 4,000 Hz.
Well that explains why my personal cassette player never gives me any trouble with hiss
