The kit they sell seems really intelligent to me since they explain why they chose each symbol and its location and it only involves small stickers for your windows, so you don't have anything dangerous in your car in case you have an accident.

Their logic is that since a car always moves forward and because you're surrounded by windows, you easily know the direction of the chi flow and can therefore figure out each bagua region's location and feng shui the car.

I bought the kit - figured I couldn't go very wrong for $10 since I spend so much time in my car. I put it up on Friday and I really like it - if anything changes I'll let you know...

Any thoughts about the concept itself, anyone?

Personally, I don't think this could possibly be effective. Even though the car only moves (generally) in one direction - forward, that forward direction can be any of the eight directions.

I think the only way you could feng shui a car would be if its chassis were attached to a foundation so that it would not be able to move. I don't know if you could get twenty year flying stars, but you could probably at least use annual and monthly flying stars. However, I don't see the point.

The car is mostly made of elemental metal and fire (when driving), so I suppose you would want to add earth to reduce the fire and enhance the metal. Besides that, what else could you really do?

I've got to admit, though, that since I bought the kit, I've been thinking about his WAAAY too much and their logic concerning this kit is truly making very good sense to me in the following way:

It seems like there are 2 main schools of thought when it comes to Feng Shui -

The first one works off the concept of the compass - Where is your house and where are the North, South, East and West areas within this house. Then, once you know this, simply lay the Bagua on top of this and you have your 8 regions.

The second one focuses more directly on how energy flows through your house and property - Taking into account things such as where windows are located, is there any running water by or on the property, are there any objects that draw / repel energy, etc - Pretty much the same concept I believe Marie focuses on by "following the energy" (I *THINK* she referred to it that way - It's been a while...). Then, by considering how the energy flows, as a whole, you lay down the bagua and find your 8 regions.

So, what Car Shui states (and they do a better job explaining it on their website than I think I will here, but I REALLY want to hear other's opinions) is that since the passenger compartment of a car consists almost completely of windows and since you're driving forward, the energy MUST move through the windows from the front towards the back (In essence, you are creating this flow on energy by driving the car forward) and since you know how the energy flows, you can lay the bagua correctly to decipher the location of each of the 8 regions.

Once you know where each region is, all you have to do is place each of these small stickers in its correct location and you have this extremely strong flow of energy (due to the speed of your driving) perfectly harmonized.

They explain it better on their website. I really have to admit that this logic just plain makes sense to me!

PLEASE, anyone, let me know your thoughts because I feel this is quite fundamental to the basic practice of Feng Shui - Do you strictly work off of a compass or can you, like they did, focus more predominantly on the flow of energy through an environment?

Through the studies I have done, I've come to believe that energies flow down from heaven and they also flow up from the earth. We measure the construction cycle from when the roof seals off the house so that heavenly chi no longer is able to flow into the house.

Depending on when the roof seals off the house, the energy distributes in different parts of the house in ways that can be determined by seemingly complex calculations. They really aren't complex once you learn how to do them. One of the main determinants of how the energy distributes in a house is the direction the house faces and sits. This facing direction and sitting direction is, according to diamond feng shui the direction that the door faces. Through my studies, I've come to believe that the direction a house faces cannot be determined by the direction the door faces, but instead by other factors that Marie discusses in her latest newsletter.

Without a compass there is no feng shui in the traditional sense. Other forms of feng shui that don't use a compass have come along in modern times, but I don't believe they can accurately map the energy blueprint of a house. This is my opinion.

On the other hand, feng shui in the most basic sense is controlling the environment to create balance. One feng shui master was quoted as saying that if we feel uncomfortably warm in our house, and we turn on the air conditioner, we become a feng shui master.
