Hi there,

I was just reading some of the other posts regarding listening to paraliminals and purpose.

Would it therefore be important to state your purpose before a listening session for all paraliminals?? And making sure that you are not trying to achieve the big picture in one sitting?

Is it better to listen to the tapes to support a sub-goal of your overall purpose and then measure your results against that? Then Ideally go out a check your performance in that subgoal?

What happens if you don't have a specific purpose in mind before listening? How long do you need to listen to the tapes for the changes to be permenant?

Hi Dmlocke,

I can't pretend to know the definitive answer on this, but my impression is that it is better to have a specific goal in mind before listening to many of the paraliminals. I also recall reading somewhere here that if you start with a "big picture" goal and then find the paraliminal isn't working, you should consider breaking it down into smaller goals. Or make sure your goal is realistic. Oh, I think it was the product description for "Peak Performance" and was a baseball analogy. For example, starting with the goal "to be the greatest baseball player in the world ever" is unrealistic and almost certainly unachievable. Better to listen with smaller goals that would improve your overall game play.

Now having said that, one of my own experiences was using "Get Around To It" to work through some issues on the job that I had been avoiding. It didn't help at all. After listening a few times, I realized the issue with work wasn't procrastination, it was fear and anxiety. I used "Anxiety-Free" specifically for the work issues with huge success. Now the kicker is that I noticed I was accomplishing things in my personal life that I had been avoiding too. So "Get Around To It" had an effect on me even though I listened with an entirely different goal.

I know this doesn't really answer your questions, but hopefully my experience can shed a little light.

If you don't have a specific purpose for listening. Read the booklet for some hints and some questions to answer for that particular Paraliminal. If you're looking at a Paraliminal you have an inkling what you want it to do for you you just need to get clear on it. Asking the right questions helps that's why reading the booklet that comes with each Paraliminal is so valuable.
