Hello Does anybody have experience with working through feelings of guilt about ones actions in the past, that seem to stay for years always in the background and often the foreground of ones mind in a painful way
Despite some pratice of meditation and exercises on forgiveness of self and others their has been little progress. I have seen the advertisement for the personnel history parraliminal and wonder if it is worth a try?? any success stories out their with deep seated stuff?
I suspect some parraliminals have helped me like NBG and Anxiety free in some ways, other parraliminals I notice have little effect on me despite some years of occaisonal and varied use. but this guilt remains and all that is associated with it particularly some of the stupid things I have done that may have hurt others (perhaps not physically but emotionally etc).

Hello beachwalker,
As timtim has suggested above "New History Generator" will definitely be of help to you. In addition to this you can also listen to the following Paraliminals:-
1. New Behavior Generator This Paraliminal has two sessions and you can use Session A to eliminate your current behaviors and use Session B to acquire most any behavior to help you attain a goal. Understand one thing that you must be very clear about what do you want to replace your feeling of guilt with. IMHO, you are not clear, what exactly would you like to feel about those actions. The question you should be asking yourself is What, if not guilt? In other words what would you rather be feeling about them, instead of guilt?
Please allow me to highlight another point here, we are living in a Universe of purpose. As Dr. Wayne Dyer has put in his books, "there are no accidents in this universe". In light of this, understand that whatever happened to you in the past, happened to fulfill a certain purpose. Those things were there to teach you something. Try getting the lessons out of them. Accept those actions as part of you and thank them. This will definitely help you overcome your feeling of guilt about them.
2. New Option Generator This Paraliminal will help you generate new options or ways to think, react and act. And as I can understand you are stuck on this problem and would really like new options or new solutions.
I hope I have been of some help to you.
God bless you.
Kind regards Vaibhav Sharma

thanks for your suggestions timtim and vaibhav. Its hard for me to see the lesson I get when we foolishly or ignorantly hurt others, perhaps not intentionally or physically hurt but emotionally hurt etc. I guess on one level I see that it should not be repeated for it hurts me as well for years to come. However I acknowledge there is so much I dont understand beyond this.
I have the New Behaviour and New Option tapes but did not realise they can be applied in this way vaibhav
it sounds like you both have had success with the New History Generator which gives me some hope it may work for me
best regards

Hi Beachwalker, I appreciate that our posts have encouraged you. Based on your recent post, allow me to suggest two more things that you can do. 1. Change the way you talk about yourself. Please be more affirmative, more forthcoming and more positive in your speech. Quote:
it sounds like you both have had success with the New History Generator which gives me some hope it may work for me
Instead of making the above statement, it will be better if you could say something on these lines - "I am convinced that people and especially you two had success with the New History Generator Paraliminal and I believe that it will also work for me.
2. This is just a suggestion, and in no way intended to hurt you or undermine you. It is very much within you to ignore this, in case you don't like it. My suggestion is after listening to Paraliminals go talk to those people, spend time with them, ask them to fogive you, do something good for them in a self-less manner, approach them instead of running away from them. Now I do understand that I am not fully aware of your situation and that it is something really private to you. Believe me my intention is only to help you out and not to cause you any hurt in whatsoever way.
And I hope I have been of some help to you.
God bless you.
Kind regards Vaibhav Sharma

In the human journey we are all not perfect and sometimes people do get hurt because of our actions. Not because we wanted to, it just happens. And we can carry this guilt to our grave or let it go. In the Abundance for Life Course, Paul deals with this quite well. Two other things that come to mind are the Sedona Method (in the reading section) this is a simple method that teaches you how to release guilt, shame ect. And if you want to get into some real heavy work look at John Bradshaw the title Healing the Shame that Binds You. http://www.bradshawcassettes.com/ As for support a 12 step program can be very benificial. And a good therapist can save you many years of heartache. Guilt is such a non supportive emotion that robs you of much life. It is good that you are taking action on this. Take care.

Thanks Kevinfromnorthern could you point me to the reading section the sedona method, I could not find it with a search using sedona as the keyword
Aspects of the 12 step program is something I am working on and drawn back to often, as the problems of guilt/shame were caused during a time of addiction. but the 12 steps seems a long lonely path at times and some of the people I may of wronged in an emotional way are difficult to trace to carry out one aspect of the 12 steps. There are two I only know for sure I emotionally hurt anyway (the 2 that were the kindest to me). The others I dont know? do we hurt people just by being around them and negative with a mind bent in an addictive way? well we certainly dont help them. it is not that I stole anything or even talked bad about them behind their backs. Quite the contrary really.
Vaibhav Thanks again for your suggestions, I appreciate your good wishes and intentions as mentioned before I am only aware of emtionally harming 2 people but where does it stop when we have been very negative. Unfortunately these people are now on the otherside of the world etc. in regards to the bits you have quoted from my email, I am all for positive thinking but struggle to take it this far. Perhaps this is a issue you have opened up thats an obstacle to success??
I wish to maintain an open mind on this New History CD regarding if it works for me, I have not acquired it yet and wanted feedback before laying out money. I did find encouragement based on your replies though
I think I am familiar with your positive thinking scenario but we can all turn things into a placebo (and it may work in 30-40% of cases according to the science research??), sure who cares as long as it works, but my preference is to use free things as placebos like glasses of water, swims in a clear river etc, not things that are relatively expensive for me at this stage.
Even Bandler, one of the fathers of NLP I think, says it is a modality that works in many cases but not all and to try it and see for oneself. best regards

Hi: It might actually be more helpful, concerning "Sedona" to send you to the website - here's the link: The Sedona Method. You will be able to learn to release those feelings of guilt and shame if you just give this a chance. Also, guilt and shame take up a lot of mental and emotional real-estate in your head, so once you've done this, thinking on another of your posts here, you may find you have a much easier time of absorbing other material. Regarding the part of the 12 Step Program where you need to right the emotional wrongs done to persons: 1) You may be creating more guilt for yourself than necessary by thinking that just being around people with a negative mind-bend would be damaging to them - there are two sides to that coin - and the big question to ask yourself then is "Were they capable of thinking on their own" about this? If the answer is "yes", then you are assuming guilt you don't need. 2) In needing to reach out to those you've supposedly hurt, it ISN'T necessary for you to actually physically contact them (or even contact them at all), although the program sort of sets you up to do this. What you can do, in sincerity, is to make contact at your highest level of being - where we are all ONE anyways. In some respect, this may be the better way to do this, as what I've learned from a recent TV program, sometimes "making amends" actually re-opens old wounds and the person originally hurt is being hurt all over again because of the contact. So certainly balance your need to relieve yourself of guilt with the needs of the person(s) you feel you may have originally hurt - will tearing open the old wound actually heal it or make it harder for them to heal? This is the learning of TRUE compassion. Trusting this helps a bit. Cheers! Unis

Hello,
May I suggest to try Automatic Pilot paraliminal. It deals with negative self talk and self sabotage. And it has worked for me in dealing with a feeling of "not deserving" things.
Good luck,
Ruth

Thanks Unis and Ruth, There are so many things to choose from even when it comes to guilt. I feel a bit like a hungry kid in a dazzling candy shop when it comes to learning strategies.com, having eyes bigger than my stomach, spinning around and afraid to make a less than perfect choice.
However, I guess from the perspective of getting first things first, there is little point in trying to focus on career goals as well, when one is carrying around lots of guilt and shame and there is also a lot of anger as well for things that have happened in many cases 5-8 years ago. Forgiving oneself and others is perhaps getting first things first and may help other career type goals which I have struggle so far to get clarity on? any feedback on this is appreciated
If anything my past work with the parraliminals etc on career may be bringing the guilt shame more to the surface of late.
Its just i am impatient when not working on new things or things I can see directly on building a career and nervous of getting lost in prior steps, I was hoping the guilt would somehow go away without any work, and i would lose no time by ploughing on with career goals and aspirations, but I have achieved no clarity in the career area up to the present reflected in underemployment and often felt much fatigued.
thank you all again for your time and suggestions
