I do one active exercise session each day, 34 min. I have read that it varies from 0 to 2,5 hours (!). It`s good for me, but is 34 min good enough?

Also, it`s said that in the basic course you learn how to make Yin/Yang water to help balance your energy? What is this? I haven`t read or noticed anything about this.

34 minutes is good. More is better, if you have the time. Or we can MAKE the time.

As far as Yin Yang water I know there are topics about this here on the SFQ forum that will answer your question.

Basically it is a glass of water. Half spring or regular cool water and half boiling water and a tablespoon of honey. The two types of water have the different energies and honey which is powerful because of all the flowers the bees must visit to create it.

I drink it regularly and it works.

Take care.

Thank you. If I get the time I maybe will use more time on it, two sessions each day

So you mix those two waters and put honey in it and drink it. Is this to be done every day, like before you do the practise? Or after the practise or whenever I`d like to?

Sure, you can drink it whenever.

I drink it after or before my Qigong session or in the morning or before bed.

Hi John,

I actually substituted my morning coffee for the yin/yang water. After drinking I just don't feel the same pull for coffee. You may also want to dry black sesame seed tea.

Honey is not part of yin/yang water.
It's just half a measure of boiling water
and half a measure of cool water.

Chunyi Lin likes it with honey, but it
is not necessary. He says some poople
make tea with it. It's up to you what
you add.

So why is there something called Cola Zero....

Thanks for replies, I didn`t get the quote...

By the way, as far as I`ve learned; Yin and Yang, up and down, good and bad, etc, is just concepts in our mind. SFQ talks about the emptiness, so why do they also talk about two "polarities" like Yin and Yang?

Everytime I read about Yin and Yang I never learn something deep about it..

JohnA, their are different levels of knowing, and different areas define them differently. A book I have with me now (Super Reading Secrets) identifies the levels as: awareness, familiarity, knowledge, or expertise. Many people say they know something but are only at an awareness level. There is also a proverb about learning that is a favourite of mine:

I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.

I've used this proverb many times. I can see how it parallels my own understanding of material, while going to school and other times in life. I like to use it as a check point, whenever I say I know that.

As for the duality or polarity of the emptiness, you can try reading a book on buddhist meditation and you'll discover the becoming filled by going into the emptiness oppositions and sameness; about being empty and connecting to everything (the universe).

Master Lin presents a very simple system that is powerful. That doesn't mean it isn't founded on the richness of qi understanding, only that he does not include it in his system. Maybe for those who progress deeper, or who Do the system more the understand is revealed. Maybe he just wants people to get the most benefit with the least effort, as fast as he can help them.

You are perfection.

Aloha JohnA,
He talks about Y/Y water somewhere in the lecture CD's 1-4. It's not in the manual.

Much Love, Shawn
