It is so that I can get the blip-page and mantain it, when my eyes are in the middle of the book.

My first question is:

Does it matter how big the blip is?

My second question is:

when I have the blip, and after a while some part of the blip, for example a little bit of the left strip of the blip disappears and shifts to the right strip of the blip, and the same thing happens. It is like my eyes focus differently, or it feels like the is some blind spot in my eyes that appears in timeintervals.

all advice and tips are apprecicated!

Thx

If you can see the blip page... great!

Relax... turn the pages, chant to yourself and relax some more

Direct your attention to the chant and allow your vision to take in the whole page..

And relax some more!

My experience is that the blip page varies with size & thinkness of the book. I believe having seen the blip page itself is the signal that I've entered PR stage. It's important to maintain a relax state. Other than chanting, smiling during PR helps me relaxing as well.

many people photoread without seeing the blip page at all.

so if you can see the blip page, whatever the size, great, relax and photoread that book!

I say relax because if you are worrying about the blip page then you aren't in an ideal state for photoreading... you want your unconscious mind to pay attention to the page, yet you are giving it other work to do, like control your breathing, heart rate, emotions all associated with a heightened stress state.

Relax, enjoy the fact that you can photoread easily, and be happy that in this state your unconscious mind can absorb everything you photoread quickly and easily.

Now that sounds like a better way to spend your time, doesn't it?

The blip page can be 3 millimetres to about 6 centimetres. (1/8th inch to about 3 inches) If you're seeing the blip any wider than that you're trying too hard and may be crossing your eyes.

It can be just the left page or right page or combination of both pages. That depends on the strength of the eyes. You'll find that the stronger one dominates especially in the beginning.

You can see the blip page by looking over the top of the book or under the bottom. Those are the easier options for the beginner. As you become more proficient you'll be looking through the centre of the book.

Since the blip page does often disappear remember the imaginary x-technique. it's far more important that you keep turning the pages with a steady rhythm and keep the conscious mind busy with the chant than refocusing on the blip page every time. So when it disappears use the soft gaze and keep going.
