Im very bad at taking tests. Im trying to pass a math test for a GED deploma. This will be the third try i have done. The main problem for me is i get very shacky and have a hard time remembering things that i study'd for just a few weeks earlier. Before taking the test for the second time i tryed doing EFT and the sedona method for releasing some of the fear. But i still faled so im wondering if im doing anything wrong. If not can any one suggest anything else?

Thank's

Maybe you could try having a talk with yourself about what do you really fear about taking this test. Is it a fear of failure or status or whatever. what effects are going to happen if you fail or if you pass.

For some it is more a Stage Fright than doing the actual test taking.

You have to realize that taking the test and passing is for your benefit not for anyone else. The person administering the test probably couldn't pass it either.

I would say that you just have no training to fall back on in regards to test taking. You just don't know how to handle what is going on. Which is more than just taking the test.

Starting from the time you walk in the door your attitude (if you really want to pass) should be something like attending a Japanese Tea Ceremony. This is vey efficient, it creates no stress and you only focus on gathering the test and completing it to the best of your ability. Nothing else matters. You do this with complete respect for everyone there helping you (you believe that everyone there is helping you).

You mentally bow and say "thank you" when you start and when you depart.
There is no wasting any time looking around or making any assumptions about the people or place involved. Say "thank you" to the test for giving you this opportunity.

When you are finished, complete as instructed and tell the person you hand your test to "Thank you". Go on about your business or wait for the results if you can.

What this does for you is to give you the right attitude for taking a test. It shows respect for yourself and everyone involved in your test taking. It saves alot of energy and directs it to passing the exam. If you do not wish to do this then why take the test?

Wishing you success.

Hi. Deffdengr thanks for the reply. Yes passing the test is for my benefit, i can get a job with a GED or go to college. But then there's tests there to. So i would love to learn a way to take them without getting so shaking up that i cant remember were i live. Mabey after i take alot of them ill get used to them. I was home schooled most of my life so test taking is very new to me. But it seem that everything i do i have to take a test even getting a ID to drive a car. Its the time that they give you is what gets me why do they have to give timing it should be you finish when you finish....... whine whine

thanks

The timed test is usually about 4 times as much time as you need if you know your subject matter. If you really knew the subject you'd wonder why they gave you so much time.

Learning math is alot like learning a language. It is repetition that gets you familiar with it and once it is hardwired into your brain it is a native skill.

The questions are like answering a crossword puzzle or something similiar.

If you have only done home schooling then it might be worth your time and money to find a Tutor to help you get through this challenge.

Math is a discipline and a pretty tough go to try and figure it out yourself if you lack the aptitude. Although it is a skill that can be learned by anyone.

Some other tips that may help you. When taking the test, cover up with scratch paper all the other questions and writing that do not apply to the question you are working on. As in photo reading or remote viewing your perceptions will pick up everything and add confusion to what you are working on, isolate what you percieve.

There is a book somewhere that has all the questions and answers to the test you are taking. Only study the correct answers, do not read the wrong ones. You will associate the correct answer with each question if you do this.
Go through the material at least three times.

You will pass.

All the best.

Monroe Institute has a recording called "Buy the Numbers" which I can recommend. This can help bypass whatever is preventing you from enjoying work with numbers. It is a surprisingly effective tape.

Belief paraliminal- because you *think* you are terrible at test taking

If you have Natural Brilliance, it would be a good idea to do that one too...

Most of all, trust yourself. Go through and answer all the questions you know, leaving the others for later. After going through the whole test, go back to the ones you skipped and solve them. Dont second guess yourself- usualy the first response is the correct one. Trust the power of your unconsious mind!

good luck

Test rules,

Prepare well in advance. Get a good night sleep. Take your iPod with you and listen to some classical music Mozart is good. Stay away from the other people who are taking the test. While they are busy reviewing you just relax and listen to the music.

Stress causes memory loss. You forget everything you know during the test, walk out and not 20 minutes later start knowing the answers that eluded you during the test. I recommend listening to the Paraliminal Anxiety Free for the week prior to the test. Especially if you have a lot of emotion riding on it.
