Hi guys, I'm really trying hard to get this photoreading thing down. I've been reading and listening with the course and have just finished reading the photoreading book for the third time and am half way through listening to the cd course also the third time. I have listened to the 7th cd where Paul guides me through photoreading a personal choice book well over two dozen times. I have spent couple hours per day studying the course and applying it, yet I have had close to zero results.

Right now, I'm focusing on just playing the dictionary game because I think it is the easiest to find out if I am starting to photoread correctly. I have photoread the S section of my dictionary (about 200 pages) about six times over three days, (twice each session before sleeping, once right side up, once right side down) and I have not had any noticable results as of yet.

Also, now I can focus my attention at the back of my head much better than before due to continual practice of the tangerine technique, but I have not noticed any signal of increase in my peripheral vision, am I doing something wrong?

I got the blip page clarified by Matt a while ago, but as I was studying the course again I was wondering what Paul meant when he said there's a certain clarity to the page as I relax more. Well, now I can see the blip page and also read the text on it quite comfortably. I can even move my focal plane beyond the book and back on the book while maintaining a diverged eye state. Is this what Paul is talking about when he is saying there's a certain clarity to the page through deeper relaxation?

I am really trying hard to learn how to photoread, yet I am quite lost. I would sincerely appreciate it if I got some more guidance by experienced photoreaders.

Hi Simon.

Forget about the blip it is not necessary to have a blip to photoread. Look at the 4 corners of the book and keep them in your view and notice the whiteness of the pages and imagine a imaginary x across the pages.

You already know how to photoread.

Forget about the dictionary game for now, focus on learning activation skills.

Rather than spend all this time on photoreading (which you already know how to do) focus on learning activation skills.

Simon the number one problem in my opinion for new photoreaders is having problems not being able to activate a book after photoreading. What i see time and time again the problem is usually due to no purpose. When no purpose has been set or determined the new photoreader usually draws a blank when it comes time to activate the book. Also sometimes there is some confusion on the techniques of superreading people think they are superreading when they are not superreading.

Again, have a very strong, clear purpose. Understand why you need the information from the book you are activating and how you will use the the information.

And have really good mind-probing questions that are directly related to your purpose. Start with no more than 3 mind-probing questions on your first activation and do a mind-map after superreading.

Understand that the first activation pass you will get very little information from the intitial pass but do not give up too quickly because you feel you are not getting anything. Do 3 or 4 more activation passes and you will see that you get more as you continue to activate. Make sure that you take a 5 to 7 minute break after each activation.
