This is completely different from my original post.

I remember that I had a dream last night about me being in a church. In this church there was a concession, a computer tech booth and a train in the back.
The interesting part of this dream is that there was a train. I've had a dream about a train before (this was right after learning photoreading and listening to some paraliminals). My other dream with the train was actually a subway going through different realities.

The train i think has some meaning in my dreams. It's a very interesting metaphor. I think the train means my train of thought. I remember seeing a train in the photoreading books. And I think these dreams with trains in them are trying to tell me something. And it's interesting that I had a dream about church.

Is this dream trying to tell me to keep faith and I will get to my destination?

Hi,

I can sympathize with you, I spent about 7 months, 3 years ago learning and trying to improve, my ability to photoread, with no luck. I spent time image streaming and went through all of the exercises in Einstein Factor, no luck. I did the Photo reading home study course with the mind mapping from the book on mind mapping by Tony Buzan himself, over and over and over again, no luck. I listened to Memory Supercharger and Personal Genius, once every day, no luck. I took the Silva Method, at the end of the 7 months and was only able to use it to relax myself mentally and physically.

Then about 3 and a half months ago, out of the blue, I thought, what the heck, I`ll give it another try. I followed the same routine as before, Image Streaming, Photoreading, Memory Supercharger, and Personal Genius, but this time added one different thing. I broke down what I believed my beliefs, values, rules, emotions, states, references, memories, vocabulary, etc... had to be in order to succeed at photoreading. I also listed what I thought was holding me back, and referenced it to what I believed would help. Using some NLP techniques I did my best to change the negatives to positives.

In the beginning, I did the dictionary exercise withh 10 words, and matched 4. Not bad. The first time years ago, it was 0! And I kept going with the program I had set up, spending about 30 minutes every day evaluating my states, beliefs, etc... during the session. I noticed one thing, I wanted to succeed so much, that I wasn`t really entering the states I needed, to actually succeed. So I took a week off, from the program, and just played around with everything. I did it just for fun, and 4 weeks ago, I began seeing real results. Books I was photoreading for fun, were being activated.

I then thought that I would test myself in a chess tournament against various profiles on my computer. I went to the library and photoread every chess book they had, and activated. I also read several books on chess psychology. I did this for 3 weeks, not playing a single game on a board but trying to work the games out in my head. Now, for reference in my teens, I was rated 1716, which is pretty good. I set up the computer to play a variety of styles including the strongest possible profile. The average rating of the opponents was 2323 according to the computer but discounting them by 300 due to the possibility that they may be inflated, I won 4 out of 8 games, and drew 1, resulting in a rating of 2373. This done over 4 days using tournament time controls. Adjusting, this comes to 2073. A master rating! This isn`t the interesting part though, I went over the games using the Chessmaster`s analysis tool, and had played the openings and endgames almost flawlessly, with some strategic and tactical errors, in the games that I lost(and the games I won). I`m going to test myself next week by playing in a tournament against live chessplayers next month. If the rating sticks, well then ... I can apply this experience as a benchmark to any other that I wish to succeed in.

My point through my longwinded explanation is that maybe you need a break from all the self-help, and just enjoy life. Come back to the program the way a child would, full of wonder, and enjoying the process without really expecting an outcome. In the end there is always an outcome, we just need to get out of it`s way and let it happen.

"In a direct contest of the will and the imagination, the imagination invariably wins."

Good luck. And I hope that something in the novel I`ve written here helps.

lmarkovski thanks for inspiring me with that wonderful reply.

One thing I haven't tried yet is a break from self-help. I think enjoying to play with photoreading without expecting anything is a good approach.

If anyone else can help me I would sure like to hear from them. I am a fast poster so you can expect a reply from me in almost no time.

Your posts will help more than just me. Because i've noticed that a lot of people are reading this post. Instead of just reading and not posting please tell me your success and struggles with photoreading so that I and other people can relate. I think this would a lot.

Thanks ahead of time. Look forward to hearing from some more photoreaders.

lmarkovski, your post really encourages me to continue on. I've been working on with the deluxe course with absolutely zero (at least not anything noticeable) result success. I've also failed the dictionary game and have only been averageing one or two out of every ten words. I've been working on it hardcore for two months and was on the verge of quiting, I guess it's also my belief systems that come into play, anyways, how did you play around with your belief systems? Like something from "Frogs into Princes"? I haven't yet read that book but if ideas from that book could help or if you can tell me some other ways I could play around with my belief system, please help me. Thanks.

My experience so far has been very good with all the steps in the Photoreading process with the exception of the Photofocus and actual photoreading step. All the steps have benefitted me but when I photoread and activate it seems like nothing happens and I gain no further benefit or understanding. Anyway I will keep playing with this step after a short break, even though I do admit I feel skeptical about it at this point, where I haven't before.
I'll still try to keep an open mind and any tips or ideas are welcome and appreciated.

lol, I actually called Anthony Robbin's company to see if his supporting comment on the back of the photoreading book is genuine. The Marketing head guy was out of office and I didn't get a call back but I think photoreading still does work cuz there's so many websites that support it, I watched every single 'photoreading' related video on youtube and even found a Korean website with a Korean guy saying it works, (I'm Korean) so that greatly reduces my skepticism but I'm still very confused because I am taking every step with good purpose, mindmaps etc, and still have not gotten any noticable results in the past two months. Talked with Patrick (photoreading coach) today and I wanted him to help me activate the book Natural Brilliance but didn't get to it cuz I had other questions. Actually, torrented the course two months ago and already listened to all the tapes before I bought the deluxe course at the discounted price two weeks ago after finally getting the money. I've gone through about five books with the whole mind process (which means including rapid reading) and little to no results. I got out of university (first year) so I can get the money to take one of the seminars, thankfully I found one here in Vancouve so it won't cost me too much now since i don't have to pay for plane ticket and hotel fees. (I was originally planning to attend one in the states) Well, I'm taking a photoreading seminar with Lee Cherry on November 30-Dec 2 so I'm really really hoping that she'll be able to help me out. I'm going to show her my mind maps and hope that she can help me better activate my books. I'm also going to wait until after the seminar to rapid read the Natural Brilliance book and just try the activation techniques of mind mapping and superreading and dipping and skittering so that if I can't activate the book before the seminar, that she will be able to help me since I'm sure she knows the content of the book. Oh yeah, I'm also going to call one of the photoreading coaches again tomorrow to see if they can help me in activating the book Natural Brilliance over the phone, I've already made two mind maps on it so hopefully they can help me in some ways in addition to that. And I think the paraliminals really don't help at all, I've listened to the photoreading activator paraliminal and the memory supercharger cuz they came with the deluxe course but don't help. I wish I could just go to a professional hypnotist, have them hypnotize me into believing that I can successfully activate materials. Well that's what I'm hoping Lee will help me do since she's a NLP practitioner, hopefully she can get me into the right state. And I'm really motivated to getting this right cuz I have a list of about 150 books that I want to read regarding self help (about half of the books left that David DeAngelo recommends that I haven't yet been able to get to) and mind tricks. My goal is to learn nlp and hypnosis for entertainment like that of Derren Brown and the new show Phenomenon. Damn I hope photoreading works, will make life so much easier, lol. Anyways, I'm going back to university next year, but just found out that NLP and Hypnosis degrees aren't offered that widely in Canada, might as well go back to commerce or hopefully get a good degree in economics or something that's useful later on in life. Psychology might be good but not sure how much money I can make off that later on. O yea, one more thing, it's soo annoying how the personal learning course CDs assume that you can successfully activate and then goes on talking about syntopic reading (basically nothing more than reading books on the same topic) and then motivational speaking on how we should photoreading all our college textbooks on the first day of getting them (yea, I tried that, I went to all my classes and desperately tried activating them for the first three weeks before I dropped out after hearing about photoreading). Basically half of the personal learning course feels like common sense just repeated over and over again, no wonder there's so many horrible reviews on amazon.com. Well, I haven't yet finished watching the supercharger DVD so I'll go do that tonight and tomorrow morning. Gotta go to work at Futureshop, hopefully I'll be able to successfully activate materials after my seminar with Lee so that I don't have to waste more money for plane tickets and hotel fees trying out a seminar in the states. Man, I wanna go buy clothes and go PUA peacocking, not pay for plane tickets and hotel (though I think the traveling might be good). O yea, I also think the CD course should be recorded by someone who talks a bit faster and offered in two different settings, cuz Paul Scheele, as much as I respect him for developing Photoreading, speaks waaay too slowly in the CD. I listened to the whole thing at 1.5X speed except for the relaxation parts, and I think more of the CD's content should be spent on logically providing more evidence of how and why photoreading works, and also on not assuming everyone would get the tapes content at once. I totally failed the dictionary game over fifty times (yes fifty, I've spent a lot of time on photoreading since learning of it). Ok, gotta get ready for work tomorrow at Futureshop. I was hoping that if photoreading worked, I'd be able to photoread books on digital and DSLR cameras so that I can really be a good product expert at our store and be able to sell more of them so that I can get more commission, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to successfully photoread, so I'm doomed to manually/conventionally reading through pages and pages of internet websites on them in order to learn. Yea, and I'm kinda behind too now cuz I spent too much time trying to photoread and activate instead of just going and reading them up as I should, lol. My midterm goal is to first of all succesfully learn photoreading. If that goal is met, then I will be able to finish University in two years, get my psychology/commerce degree, go make lots of money, learn all the memory/psychology tricks Derren Brown does, go make 10 Million at Las Vegas doing blackjack using memory tricks, and then work as a hyptonist entertainer, and then work my way up into a TV show, and then create better programs to teach all these memory skills and to be able become a superb photoreading instructor so that I can help others that are in situations like myself at the moment. I have LOTS of motivation to be able to photoread and I had to get out some of my frustration of not being able to successfully activate for two months and having had to quit university for something I'm growing more and more skeptical about. But as much as I'm skeptical, I've seen almost as much evidence that there are people out there who can photoread and do amazing things. I hope you successful photoreaders out there can photoread this blog and have a cordial conversation with me via this photoreading forum. O yea, one more thing. Ten bucks that this is in top ten longest post in the entire forum.

ps: If anyone needs computer stuff from Futureshop, come to the Broadway futureshop, I'll give ya staff discount if you say you're a photoreader, lol, happy Christmas (tell yer friends to come to Broadway Futureshop during boxing week so I can make some $$ off of commission)

Simon,

I find your post very interesting because i think you are just like me in a way. First of all I am very interested in the psychological illusions Derren Brown does. I've read several books about the tricks he does on his shoes. I've also watched all of David DeAngelo's DVDs (Awsome stuff). I use to work at Future Shop as a product expert in the computers department (for 3 years). My I basically stopped going to school quit Future Shop because I have a better job. I would like to learn photoreading so i can know patterns in casino games and increase my odds. When it comes to sales Simon I highly recommend that you listen brian tracy and tony robbins he's a good help. You'll probably even sell more psp, gold packages or contracts lol! I'm hoping someone like Alex could help so that I can get the area of my life settled. It is the information age and i would like to go ahead. I am a very optimistic type of guy oo. I am working my ass off here and i expectto get some good result. What I am doing now is being a little bit lighter on the self help stuff and just enjoy life and try to notice some changes. That's what I am trying now because i've tried lots of things that didn't work but i am not willing to give up because i've spent a lot of time with self help. Simon since you listen to David D's stuff I was wondering if you've heard of a hypnotic CD called "The Sphinx of Imagination". David D has mention this at one of his seminars and this disk is just awsome. This hypnotic disk took 6 years to create. The creator Hypnotica and his crew have created a wonderful master piece. You should listen to it i've found this disk to be far more powerful than paraliminals. I've been listening to it every night and i've noticed some visuals from it. I was in a scene where i was ascending from my deep trance and i noticed a super bright flash. This flash tells me that i am part of the story and that the hypnosis is completely integrated within me. I've noticed that I've been getting some very complex, vivid and interesting dreams. Dreams that help me problem solve and make my life better. I can go on and on about The Sphinx but I think it's something that you should experience for your self due to the complexity of the story. go to http://www.hypnotica.org. Hypnotica knows his stuff really well.

"Hypnotica…is one of today’s most profound thinkers …blending his talents as a Hypnotist, Entertainer, Mind Scientist, Poet, Spoken Word Artist, Social Scientist, Neuro Linguistic Programmer, Storyteller, Seminar Leader, and Pioneer of Human Consciousness. Hypnotica has dedicated his life to the expansion and improvement of the human experience."

By listening to The Sphinx of Imagination you can:

Enhance your ability to dream of and create greater possibilities
Rediscover life’s larger meaning and purpose
Be inspired to channel your thoughts and dreams into a dynamic force to help liberate and change your life and enhance the lives of others
Align yourself with a new energy and optimism for the future
Build an inner awareness of self discovery

There is even a forum where people can share their experiences from listening to this CD. You can listen to the sphinx in many different ways.

As with photoreading I still am looking for some good advice so that I can integrate this skill in all areas of my life. Any suggestions?

Wow, that was kind of unexpected. sure feels good to know that there's some people out there I can connect with, (and not just David D. but also on Derren Brown!) Anyways, I took my Sphinx of Imagination CD out once again and listened to it. I bought it couple months ago after hearing David D recommend it, and ya, I've watched every single one of David D's DVDs, really great, also both his ebooks, also Mystery's 2002 workshop and also his 5 DVD set, I've also watched Lance Mason's body language and one more of his, currently reading Magic Bullet by Savoy (or Sinn, can't remember, but I guess it doesn't really matter if you don't know the other guys too well other than David D.) ya, David D helped me a lot on my inner confidence. But for the Sphinx, well, I just listened to it the second time, haven't noticed any differences once again, and the forums I googled seem to say similar things that unexperienced photoreaders say on the photoreading forum. I did like one guy's post tho

quote""

The CD has found its own solution to a problem that is the bane of the music business: downloading, copying and piracy. "Make sure this is an original, noncompressed recording," a voice says at the beginning of the CD. "Listening to any other encodement process will take away from its full effect."

It's great. I love it!

Marketing at its best. They reach at least 3 goals at the same time:

1. They prevent p2p-sharing so they'll sell more.

2. They give you the message: There's something mysterious that is not noticable conciously in this music, the "full effect". It's somehow like saying "a priest has blessed our guns, so we'll hit the enemy over a longer distance" - a soldier who believes this, will shoot better, even nothing changed physically measurably. -> They'll sell more.

3. MP3 is "in", even in mainstream press. So this misterious message causes attention. -> They get free publicity -> They'll sell more

[EDIT]Ok. It's only 1 goal, but three ways to it.[/EDIT]

Whatever... They could have included some brain-wave-generator-like effects (this topic has been discussed once in a while here) - I'm sure this works, but I'm sure they don't know how good some encoders handle things like this. Maybe they included some hidden things as well like "backward recording" (My religion teacher at highschool told us once we should not listen to "stairway to heaven" - No joke!) or low volume hypnotic talk ... I don't know if/how this works (I doubt it), but if (at least a part of) it is not consciously audible, it should be at least damaged by lossy encoding.

I have some experience with hypnosis/trance. I'm sure it works and it's good if it's done right. IMO it's recommendable to look into this guided by a experienced hypnotist/therapist/psychologist who can react on what happens with you. Probably this CD+your hifi can't do this.

I hope noone of us will ever be in a situation where we see no other way to reach our luck than listening to a CD like this.

anyways, you don't have to read that, just some funny stuff I found, but as for my own verdict, I think just going out and doing ten cold approaches is more efficient use of time. But if the CD worked for you, that's cool too, I might just not be easily influenced by those kinda things. I haven't had much chance to read any of Derren Brown related books (there's some pretty good ebooks out there that teaches a lot of his tricks, google) but I have downloaded (through p2p) almost all of his channel four episodes and even tried listening to the count one through six the guy does during his Russian Roulette episode. I still can't figure out how he tells. Personally, I started out on the whole self-development thing one and a half years ago at grade 11 after getting rejected, and going through serious socio-horrible-pyschologically dmging life. (I've got nothing to thank my parents for for the childhood they gave me, tho they're not that horrible, just horrible parenting) anways, the past one and a half year, I was also consumed by self-help. Especially cuz of David D, I ended up reading more books in six months period than I did during my entire grade 6-12 years. After finally getting somewhat control over my social life and becoming somewhat more attractive personality-wise, tho I haven't gone full monty yet, I came across Derren Brown (was always interested in psychology stuff from early childhood, just never got to study them, ps: I only spent my time studying and never socializing until end of grade 11, one of my own perosnal reasons of having had social difficulties, self to blame) Well, I found out that to learn the tricks of Derren Brown, there's a whole list of books I would have to read to follow through his footsteps, and that's when I started looking up speedreading, and then after reading through one book on speedreading, discovering photoreading. Ok, here I am, working at Futureshop, and blogging on this forum trying to learn photoreading. O, I also got an e-mail reply back from Lee Cherry today that she received my cheque for the seminar on November 30th. Damn, can't wait until seminar starts. Oh yea, and thanks for the advice on Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins, I already listened to Brian Tracy's audio version (forgot which one it was but listened to it twice: the one David D says he listened to a dozen times in his trailer when he was a kid) I also I have almost all (I think) of Brian Tracy's series (of course torrented cuz I downloaded like a year ago when I was eh-hem short of funds) Ya, tell me which one, I have like twenty Brian Tracy series, each like over ten hours, or if all of them are good, you can just tell me so. I was also in the middle of listening to Tony Robbin's Personal Power series (the one that goes for 30 days) and was on like CD 20 but my mp3 player broke down and I have to wait for my Futureshop Paycheque in order to buy my new mp3 phone or an ipod nano (new generation). (I read Unlimited Power, but haven't yet started on Awaken the Giant Within, but own the book) Thanks ZMasterNCreator, and for a moment, I thought you were Zan Perrion cuz of your Z and N. but I don't think you are, lol.

-only if a hypnotist could zap me into a photoreader.

Simon, Frustrated photoreader living in Vancouver, BC

o, any suggestions for yourself? I guess, try attending a live seminar? alright, ttyl.

instead of googling again, i found the forum for SoI on http://www.hypnotica.org. ok, I see that most people are having interesting results with it, which kinda makes me wonder why I'm not. Thanks tho, I'll try listening to it more or hopefully Hypnotica will be able to give me some suggestions if I continue to not be able to get effects. Thanks ZN.
