You can but in my own experience it impaired my vision somewhat however the results were astounding, most especially whilst in the dream state.
Much better would be to buy one of those ebook reader devices that use a more vision sensitive screens however their very expensive it would seem. For photoreading you would need a large screen so that the page is easily displayed so you can flick through the pages easily rather than move down line by line.
