Hi there.

I have a book for my studies that is very important, it's for my counselling skills training at uni. I will describe the book exactly, and if anyone can offer suggestions, that would be great.

500 pages
15 chapters, roughly 40 pages each.
each chapter is on a different skill. eg reflecting feelings

each chapter includes:
introduction
an example interview
summary
competency practice exercises and self-assessment
questioning for self-reflection

Obviously I will be applying these skills continually and I am hoping for an easier integration that allows for them to be more natural with less pressure to recall.

I am more than willing to 'photoread only' numerous other books on the subject too

Advice is appreciated \:\)

Hey steve,

Well as for photoreading the whole book, what I would do is keep the purpose general. Then as I activate each chapter (individually), I would set a specific purpose for each of them. Also make sure to go through each chapter during a preview or postview and determine which skills you know for sure you will want to learn and apply.

And photoread AND activate other books, that you feel you should. Photoread them all, activate the ones you know suit your purpose.

If that is a core book for your studies I'd PhotoRead it daily for a couple of weeks.
