Very vague question, and I'll do my best to respond but stick with me.
If you're trying to get better at spontaneous activation, prepare/photoread and get someone to ask you the questions.
If you have questions you want to answer, photoread/activate as y ou normally do, and if you STILL have unanswered questions, proceed to rapid reading.
Sometimes I'll rapid read right after photoreading a book, after I begin activating. If a book is that entertaining for me, and I don't care how long I stick with it, I'll just rapid read.
If you don't know the questions how can you find the answers? Make some questions of your own. Activate based on those questions. You'll get other information from the book too, and you'll be able to answer many (probably not all) questions on the book that someone else poses for you.
You really have to try these things out for yourself, as no one else can tell you what YOU should do if they don't have the same brain, mindset, thoughts and feelings as you do.
Instead of asking the forums what to do, try it out for yourself first, and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, don't use it. If you find something that works, use it.
