I have had 3 seperate experiences during meditations, where I experience something for a fleeting moment, it can only be descriped as raw expansive incomprehensible power. I can't stay there very long, it almost feels like insanity... there is no me. I was wondering if this is a common experience for people who have meditated for years, and if it is... can they actually maintain this presence in this "kingdom", or whatever it is. Or maybe I made it up. I don't think I created the experience, because it is beyond my imagination. Any insights or shared experiences would be embraced. Thank you so much.

Hi Sheryll,
I will share what I can regarding this. I have had moments of experience that are overwhelming or extreme. I don't consider them a place to make home, or a goal. They more or less happened, and I consider my sense of what they were, the most accurate information I have. I don't consider the experiences something to align with or attach to in any way. They seemed like openings, glimpses, or sometimes purposefully related to something I was going through or doing at the time relative to self transformation.
For the most part, meditation experience can happen, and you have a focus to return to.
Relative to meditation experience, active exercise is very important. Having a well grounded physical practice, and helping the body adjust, rewire, whatever, by immersing into active, is relative to growth or experience in meditation.
There can be a tendency to want to have answers to it all. Stand in line and ask the master, "What was that?!" That's an option, and sometimes it is relevant, most times not. I can't answer that for you.
I do want to stress that your active exercises are important, relative to helping your physical body, your nervous system, your sense of grounding. Focus on the lower dan tien within meditation is also important. Starting there, and returning there. Building that base.
love,
gallen
