I've heard this warning about BWgen (brainwave generator) in that creating a routine of using it every single time to aid in a particular activity (say, studying or sleeping) will condition the brain and make it difficult to do such things if the aid is taken away. Does this also apply to paraliminals? Will I become dependent and cannot, say, take tests without having to listen to them right if I were to use Personal Genius and Memory Supercharger at least 3 times a day?

In my experience I grow with the use [of the tapes] and I still need/want the them, but not as much as when I started. I use about two paraliminals a day. They keep me focused and happy. Just the thing I need. I don't mind beeing dependent on vitamin-pills either, if you see my point. *

Fringe,

You don't need to worry about it.

Despite some of the language used on them (with which I disgaree with great passion), the LSC tapes do not do anything for you or to you. A tape or course does not give you the ability to x, y, or z. It helps you learn to do things.... The tapes are not magical faeries that, with pixie dust, implant abilities within you.

They are merely stimuli to prod your brain into doing things you could certainly do otherwise, given the right cirumstances.

A lot of people lose the metaphor when they use terms like "installation" or "programming." The use of these terms has done a disservice to people. Milton Erickson, for all his supposed tricks and manipulations, stressed the involvement of the client. Passive learning is certainly not all that passive. There is a lot going on, actively in various levels of awareness, in the client.

You are alive and intelligent, and you have several kinds and layers of intelligence. The idea that the mind is a machine, that the subconscious is a computer to be programmed, and other such notions are complete nonsense.

They are just metaphors.

I think John Grinder has attempted to correct these sorts of errors in his latter books (Turtles and Whispering).

You are a human being. You can understand. You can learn. You can adapt and grow. This process can indeed lead to a relationship of dependence with anything. It doesn't have to.

Sometimes we need crutches. How we use and not use the crutch can determine whether or not we will need it in the future.

So, I guess my point is that attending to not using is just as important as using when it comes to tapes offered by LSC, the Monroe Institute, or wherever.

It seems to me it just a habit, like brushing your teeth, forget to do it and it bothers you. Still a good life long habit. You only need to decide if the habit is beneficial or detrimental.

I think he means, Will all this brain wave entrainment that I use while doing activities(studying, and so on)cause me to be dependent on it for effectiveness.
In other words after using it for a while, can I do without and still perform at the same effectiveness? Or not?

Well all I can say is it's "enTRAINment". It trains your brain. For example if you've been in "Beta" survival stress mode then using a hemi-sync CD combined while consciously relaxing can help "Train" your brain to reach that state more easily. Brain wave binurals just help pull your brain back to a desired state and have the ADDED effect of helping YOU reach that state on your own more easily. I sure at some point you won't need it as much because your brain will be so well trained and then Memory Supercharger and Personal Genius would work even better than before and you'll be more receptive to Paul's inductions as well. I notice that when I'm really stressed it's harder for me to get with the flow of Paraliminals. Just know that you don't need BWG. It's a tool that catapults you onto your own. Refer back but don't depend.
Also remember your beliefs control how your mind works as well. So if you start believing that you'll need it to do something effectively then you could very well create a huge pickle out a really faulty belief. I think 60 percent of something working has to do with your belief, and also your willingness to see the unlimited possibilities. You'll be fine.
