Has there been any research into the utilization of paraliminal technology on people who are mentally ill or psycopaths, in alterning their coginiative patterns. I have been contemplating on methods in altering such minds, and the use of paraliminal technology as part of it.
I would appreciate anyone elses thoughts.

Ideally, this sounds like a worthwhile endeavor, but unfortunately, if used in practice, someone's going to complain that it's brainwashing unles the psychopath specifically requests to be treated according to his/her own will.. and psychopaths, by definition, are unable to make rational decisions on a consistent basis.

Yes I thought of that and potential unethical uses of the knowledge and practices by anyone who is irresponsibale. Since we are in the information age and an afficanido of technology as I am, I fully understand that if information is not guarded carefully; it can be sent thousands of miles away in seconds and never be able to stop the spread of it after it is leaked. Since this development would be quite sensitive material I would need to come in contact with people who are of such high moral character thus trustworthyness would be easier to be inspired. I have a couple of people in mind off hand and would appreciate anyone elses recomendations of resources
Thankyou for your thoughts

I think compassion is the basis of most healing. A prerequisite of compassion is granting another "thou-ness." That is, seeing the person as a human being, an individual. Not a mind to be altered, a collection of buttons to be pushed, a computer to be programmed.

It's my guess that these people feel alienated enough and that the use of mild altering technology would only serve to further that alienation and undermine their ability to feel real human contact, which is what these suffering individuals so desperately need.

Contrast the studies with psychedelics by the government with those by Timothy Leary with prison inmates.

The human factor is most important, I think.

I see two problems.

First is, they'd have to want to change. All the paraliminal tapes are fairly general, although some are more specific than others.

Second is, with a charming psychopath, they'll be able to fake the change you want to see.

What would be interesting is seeing what works and doesn't work for any psychopaths who may be using paraliminals on their own. Obviously, if they have radically different neurologies, the same strategies aren't going to work. That's why I don't recommend "Get Around To It" to autists (I recommend "Natural Brilliance" instead, because what appears to be "procrastination" is actually a "stuck state.")

Because psychopaths lack the skill of sympathy, perhaps "Relationships" would be the most interesting Paraliminal to study.
