Hello,
I could not find the answer to this question while searching so if this was covered before, my apologies.
When it says in the book that I need a windchime that is at least 2 ft long, does it mean that it has to be 2 ft long from the top to the bottom or do the rods themselves have to be at least 2 ft long?

I do hope that it is not the chimes that have to be two feet long! I have a large windchime hanging in the south at present, and it is large by virtue of being bigger than the other two that are also hanging in various other points of the compass. One of the small windchimes has chimes around 5 inches long at most, the other has chimes around 6 inches long. The large one has a 12 inch chime as the longest.
I have only ever seen six-rod windchimes with at most a 14 inch chime as the longest - anything larger is definitely for the garden, surely?
Definitely interested in the result of this question, because I don't think I have the space to hang anything larger than the large windchime currently in the south!!

Aloha, Here is another gem from a Quarterly Q&A call that addresses this:
Paul Scheele: When you say small, medium, or large can you have give some specific dimensions for each of those--what exactly you mean?
Marie Diamond: Okay; a small wind chime I would say is like one-foot long, like the longest tube would be like one-foot. Now one-foot is 30-centimeters okay; the longest tube would be like 30-centimeters. The medium for me is like two-feet or like 60-centimeters, the longest tube and you know really large would be three-foot--three-feet or larger or 90-centimeters, okay. Now again if you have an amazing--large home, okay then if I say a large wind chime then three-feet won't be long enough okay. Then you would probably go for five or six-feet. So it--I would say the--the measurements I gave are like for a normal house--two, three bedroom home, okay. If you have a home or even an office you know like a big building then just a--a wind chime of one-foot is not--a small wind chime in that case would be one of three-feet long, okay because you have such a big building. Okay; does that make sense?

In the Diamond Feng Shui course, why does it show a picture of a tiny wind chime? Tiny; below 1 foot long? Also, I have posted a number of wind chimes and according to this previous post, my largest wind chime is regarded as only a medium size. Yes, I have seen large wind chimes at garden shops, the prices start at $300. Therefore, since the wind chimes do not need to make any noise and all that is needed is 6 hollow metal tubes, I can cut pipe and fabricate my own wind chimes.
According to the previous post, a tiny wind chime is useless.

As Paul clarifies with her, it's in relation to the building or room. Marie works with some clients with big houses.
If you are just hanging one up in a cubicle office, on of the tiny ones you mentioned may be all that's needed, since you are not curing the whole sector of the whole building or floor.
Look at the space you are curing for. What would seem small, medium, and large in that area? Now muscle check it. "Is this wind chime big enough to cure ____________?" "Does the wind chime need to be bigger?" By asking these questions you can fine tune activations and cures for your specific office, area, or home.

Questions regadring windchimes :
1. would shaking of windchime, which produces sound, intensify the effect of windchime ?
2. if the chime is 1/3 of lenght than optimal lenght , would that mean the effect would be aprox. 1/3 of optimal effect ? Or would the effect of smaller windchime be marginal, making it usless ? ( in same spaces it is difficult to hang large windchimes)
3. Can singing bowl help if one rouns out of windchimes or if it is not practical to hang one ?

1. Nope.
2. Remember that you can hang a windchime off your roof in that sector too, if it would work out better there.I could provide some limited benefit, depending on the size of windchime called for there. I'd muscle check.
3. Nope. They are doing two different things.
