Hello photoreaders!

I'm studying at technical colledge so I have to read technical literature but I don't really like it. PR helps at some point, but I want to make it more efficient. I'm kind of lack of motivation and pretty lazy.
Can you help with some tips in making goals, mindmapping and memorising and motivating myself?

Qwerty2323,

I'll share some advice with you even though you may not like it.

A. Stop being lazy. Straight A's don't happen that way.

B. Anyway you slice it even if you photoread you still have to superead or skitter materials

Now as for your question. I'm a University Student myself majoring in Information Security (very technical field). I have reading that I hate all the time for instance human computer interaction. The trick to that is during your postview find even just one thing that interests you and builds your curiosity about what your reading. If that still doesn't help suck it up and complete it (university books) or put the book down as it obviously will not benefit you.

As for the mind mapping and memorization. I mind map in key words or phrases..sometimes however when i'm studying things I list key points or sentences attached to topics if I really must memorize them. I also find mind mapping is much easier when using software. I myself use NovaMind. If you like I can attach a mind map I did when you reply to this post asking for it. I'm not saying it will meet Tony Buzan's approval (Mind Map Creator)..but it works nicely for me, and I have a 4.0 gpa with my method..so I use it

Check your purpose. I'm not referring to you reading purpose alone. Why are you studying stuff that you hate? You planning to use these skills in your career. Why are you studying? If that's important enough for you, you'll find your motivation and efficiency.
