Dear all,
I am wondering which part of our brain is working while PR?
In Paul's book, the step 3: photoreading(Chinese edition).

For the 3rd paragraph ,he says that the idea of photoreading is using our right brain(Im not sure is it 3rd paragraph for English edition). So the idea of the photo focus is coming from the book of "The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" from Betty Edwards. But in other paragraphs, he says that we use our subconscious while PR.

If the answer is right brain, then we could train it by sketching pictures or something like that.. grin
And that is how PR do the job if the answer is the right side of the brain: Take a overall picture of the map(right brain). And search for the answer(left brain) in this map.

Ok, that is just my guess.

So which one is working for PR?

PhotoReading is a whole mind system. It uses all of the mind. Drawing On The Right Side of the brain demonstrate a way of seeing that shuts off the thinking and analytical mind temporarily so that you start looking at the shape of things rather than trying to read the words themselves. The left side of the brain still functions doing the work of understanding and processing the words.

The PhotoReading Step turns off your dominant conscious mind, which is mostly, not only, but mostly, your left brain analytical mind. The purpose of the PhotoReading step is to take a mental snapshot that can be processed by your pre-conscious processor.

A study of reading shows that there are 6 parts of the brain triggered for reading comprehension.

You will use more of your mind, by including the PhotoReading step.
