What will be the ideal time to read a 200 pages book ?
Also if reading poetry or quotes, I think missing out a word in recalling will be disastrous . pls help .

Depends on your purpose.

Poetry is often read for deeper meaning. It's not something I would rush. Again, it depends on your purpose.

How long does a 200 page book normally take you to read?

Hi Alex, I read a post on the 5 day plan . then I referred to the manual & was thinking of trying a little experiment .
Ok 1stly my question was what is the no of pages ideally, to be read in that time frame mentioned.
Like on day 2,post view 15-20 mts.
& day 3 super read & dip for 30 mts.
Is there a format to follow or is it a complete variable depending on the kind of material I wish to read .
I needed an opinion, I was thinking of reading couple of different formats in the 5 day plan, like a newspaper, a magazine, a Tech journal, a small novel, & to end the day an inspiring book or so.
Do u think it will be an overload or I will get a gist of the different materials .

The 5 day test is in the PhotoReading book. Numbers of pages is irrelevant. Because it depends on your purpose, the style of writing and your affinity to that style of writing.

If it normally takes you 5 minutes to read 3 or 4 pages (average reading.) You won't get the book finished in one sitting as a beginner.

Keep experimenting with the 5 day test on different books,.

I wouldn't waste my time with a newspaper using the 5 day test. 30 minutes is more than I would spend on a newspaper. It's old news by the afternoon. Same with journals and magazines. Consider the reading material and "How much time you normally spend reading it."
