Is this okay to do? Or, would it be better to keep on wobbling, with the hope that I will eventually be strong enough to stand on my own. My balance is extremely poor, due to the muscles being compromised, especially on one side of the body. Today, I tried standing with my back next to a wall, not actually leaning, but gently touching it, which made it possible to keep my back straight, even when raising my leg up high and stepping forward onto the heel. It felt good, and there was no concern about falling. If you have a better suggestion, I'd be glad to hear it.

You can use a wall.

You can even do the exercise without moving your legs up and down. Just stand there with your eyes closed, moving your arms, and imagining the energy moving up and down.
