Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ Genius Code direct learning & borrowed genius for piano

Hello,

I've been working my way through the Genius Code and I'm on the Direct Learning part and I'm thinking ahead to the Borrowed Genius.

I've always wanted to learn to play piano and this seems like an ideal implementation of the above protocols. So, I have a couple of requests. What are some good learn to play piano books? Some should be theory, some practical 'how to,' some about piano, but not necessarily playing it. I don't know how to read music, so I guess I'll be playing by ear (unless reading music is one of the gifts from Direct Learning). For the purpose statement of Photoreading, would I just say, "I'm photoreading this book to learn to play piano?"

For the Borrowed Genius, how often would I want to do it?

I plan on immersing myself in piano music from CDs for inspiration

Should I mix in improvitaping?

hi I've been thinking of doing the same and hopefully I'll be implementing it within the next week - so I'll keep you posted on how I get on.
Do learn how to read music, it's really not that hard and should help you out. When you start practising after using borrowed Genius you should be able to pick up any extras easily. Your purpose statement seems fine to me though I'm no expert.
You might also want to use Personal Genius paraliminal tape before you practice, I've heard it helps. And perhaps use mind machines or brainwave entrainment programs while you are playing - they might help you learn any new skill. I used them when trying to learn perfect pitch, as well as Borrowed Genius before listening to each separate tone. I also used the brainwave entrainment programs while listening to music - I think it would help you model the person better in borrowed genius, help with ear training etc. I have decided to try to complete the Genius Code course before I continue with my practise, but there was definite improvement, being able to recognise the different tone colours, even if I could not remember them all the time. So you might want to try this as well - I've heard perfect pitch helps you play any instrument.
