Hi!

I am just wondering... is it worth the effort trying to get lucid dreams? I am at the moment I have just started trying to.

Thanks
Wayne

For me the best part of lucid dreaming has always been that moment when I realize that I am dreaming and then take control of the dream whether it is flying, switching locations, etc.

I've seldom used lucid dreaming for anything constructive, because it has been so much fun just doing everything else.

Maybe if I would lucid dream more often I would become more productive.

By itself, it has not been as successful as we would have liked. Using it in conjunction with the other techniques increases the occurrence.

The best, for me, has been using the Nova Dreamer from the Lucidity Institute. I had my first lucid dream within two weeks.

It has been good for dream recall (which is a step up for me). Normally, I rarely remember my dreams but if I listen to the tape then I become aware of my dreams. Not lucid but at least I am aware of them.

Thanks for being so honest. However i have tried the nova dreamer and didnt really have much luck with it. The problem was that it was uncomfortable to wear and it wasnt giving any cues at the appropiate times, perhaps because i have a lamp post that shines through the curtains in my room. All the people i have asked say dreamplay gives excellant recall of dreams. But i'm already able to recall my dreams easily so i don't think it would help. Still seems like a good alternative to taking a smart drugs like melatonin to stimulate recall, which someone recommended to me a few years ago. Wish i had it then.

I would think it is worth it. I do not recall any of my dreams and I feel like I am missing something.

Nova Dreamer: I had my greatest success on the weekends when I would sleep longer--it is easier to lucid dream after six hours. I'd set something to beep a couple of hours before waking. I'd then put on the Nova Dreamer. Since those last few hours were the richest for dreaming, it was much easier to lucid dream.

Dream Play: it is superb for recalling dreams. I think I remember a lot of my dreams as it is, but whenever I use it I remember so many more. Enough people have experienced lucid dreaming by using the tape that I would try it.
