I was wanting to know some new words and such to increase my vocabulary. I have an IQ of 145, but I feel stupid cause I just found out this year. I always found school boring, and now they put me in an accelerated class. I just want to feel like I fit in more by increasing my vocab. I am planning on studying the human mind and see what makes some people smarter than others as part of my independent study next year. Just to say a little about me, I am 15; I like to read; I was asked to skip a grade, but my grandparents wouldn't let me; I live with my grandparents; and I plan to be a vet/ chemist/ engineer/ biogeneticist (however you spell it) in one.

try "Million Dollar Vocabulary." I got it, and it is pretty cool!

I was talking to someone yesterday who thoroughly enjoyed Million Dollar Vocabulary on two fronts.

First, he bought it because we published it, not because he wanted to improve his vocabulary. Actually, he thought vocabulary improvement would be horrible and excruciating. He found he loved it. That it was fascinating. That it was mind candy.

Second, he said he glommed onto about three dozen words our of the 600. He said they thoroughly became part of his vocabulary. He said it was fun, but more importantly, those words helped him more specific in his communications.

The biggie was when he went through the program again about a year later. He said he easily picked up another 80 words. He was surprised at how easily the new words slipped into his vocabulary.

Well, I might like to have that, but I have noticed that things on this site are a little too rich for my blood. (no offense) I just can't pay that kind of money for things.

Many libraries will purchase copies of our courses for their patrons. (One library ordered three copies of Million Dollar Vocabulary this past week!) Go talk to your librarian. Print pages from this website to help make your case.

Or, go in on it with a group of friends. You will get much more from the course when you work on it with others.

1) it helps with effective communications

2) those with strong vocabularies earn three times that of others

3) it can be mind candy
