Hi PballJew.
I saw your post on this site a while ago and, intrigued by the idea you bring up, I was wondering if you had found out any more about the coaching your friend had done.
I am a language teacher and author of a language course myself, and I like to keep as informed as possible about developments in accelerated learning, especialy where languages are concerned, and I can't say I've ever heard of anything like what you mention! Has anyone else?
As far as I know, even using techniques such as Photoreading, mnemonics and brain-wave entrainment that help you to learn, you still have to put a good deal of effort in to get anywhere in learning a language.
Just a couple of suggestions:
You may have heard of programmes by a guy called Colin Rose. I think that these are very good programmes to give you the grounding in learning language, but they aren't cheap!
Somewhere I read that someone made a reference to programmes by Paul Pimsleur. These are dearer still, but they are excellent for teaching you to speak a language a bit like the way you learnt your native language. Most language courses are basically pretty much the same thing, but the Pimsleur method is truly original.
I would like to hear more about this language through NLP stuff, though. Someone learnt a language in a week? "The force is strong with this one!"
