Does anyone have any information on listening to Binaural Beat soundtracks for extended periods?

I am considering listening to a blend of Alpha & Theta waves (Holosync/Hemisync) throughout the day during market hours as a way to increase my focus on the computer screen. This would add up to about 7-8 hours a day 5 days/week.

Specifically, I'll be using Holosync Oasis & Quietude soundtracks along with the Hemi-sync CD Einstein's Dream on a continuous random loop during the day.

Personally I don't think more is better. The brain has certain task that it needs to focus on with different levels of clarity. It follows the natural rhythm for that particular task. It is by far better to find you own triggers for the task and let the brain locate it's optinal rhythms than to interfer with an outside source. Alpha and theta are good but not necessarily the optimal way to focus on the computer.

When you start playing certain frequencies to entrain the brain at certain levels it becomes something similar to caging an animal for it's own protection. It loses it's natural instincts to cope with the natural environment.

From my own investigation of brainwaves I suspect your project would lead you to insomina and excessive sleep cycles, possible halucinations and frequent daydream trances while working and after about 2 hours tiredness. Even a 4 hour selection of music becomes boring since the mind hates excessive repetition so chances are you'll become irritable if you persist and I wouldn't be surprised if after 3 days you cease with the music anyway.

Alex.

From my experience today I think your correct. I lasted about 3-4 hours and had to stop. Plus I didn't get any work done and afterwards I didn't feel right for about another hour.
