Does anyone know if insomnia is a side effect of Kundalini Rising? if so, are there any ways to fix this problem? Please help.

It can be ONE of the "symptoms," and there are many, including the kriyas, hearing music or buzzing sounds, and so forth. When I first received shaktipat back in the 70's, it felt like all Heaven had cut loose--and yes, I did not sleep that much for awhile.

Sometimes, and more often actually, insomnia will indicate an imbalance in the energy system, often an overstimulation of Triple Warmer. In "Energy Healing" by Donna Eden, she tells how to calm the TW meridian, which often helps restore serenity, enabling sleep.

A simple way is to simply start at the eyebrow, move to above the ears, and behind the ears and down the neck--you can do that anywhere without looking strange, and it's actually something a lot of people do quite naturally--instinctive, you might say. Do both sides several times, say 3-4 (although I generally do 6).

You might also consider balancing your chakras, to make sure one isn't overactive, and others underactive, etc.
