I read the book, "Superlearning 2000" and perused to the section about brain foods.

So yesterday I went to the local GNC and bought the following :

1. Lecithin (1200 mg) with Phosphatidyl Choline (400 mg). It's a two in one pill.

2. L-Glutamine (1000 mg per pill)

I have a few questions :

A. I was wondering if this is safe and if so, are the amounts enough or too much?

B. Is 1200 mg of Lecithin too much/little?
C. Is 500 mg of Phosphatidyl Choline too much/little?

D. Should I forget about using L-Glutamine and just use the Lecithin?

E. What would best compliment Lecithin? I heard Pantothetic Acid?

F. I read in the book, "Superlearning 2000" that it is recommended that one take 70 GRAMS of Choline per day if you wanted to see any effects. YES 70 grams!!! (2.5 ounces) Was this a misprint?

G. I wanted to buy L-Phenylalanine but I decided not to because people who have certain disorders use it as mood enhancer which scared me off. Has anyone tried this?

I'd like to end this with how scary this World is that ANYONE can walk into a drug store and buy things off the shelf without a prescription!

OOOOO......personal enhancements via medicine. Must becareful. Like Paul scheele said if we won't creat the time to read, even if we could read at 2million words per minuite, it wouldn't do any good. Same with learning, if we don't put in the effort, doesn't really matter if we enhance ourselves with drugs.

The problem with taking DAILY doses of Phosphatidyl Choline is that you may become psychologically dependant on it. Meaning you might feel that you need it inorder to learn.

I agree totally with Elmo9 ... taking pills would tend to build a dependancy or crutch.

Eating well, drinking clean water, exercise and working on you inner self via meditation or whatever works for you, is all you need in life to be "All that you can be!"

Please, don't confuse drugs and supplements.
I agree, taking drugs can make one dependent on them, so if you decide to take drugs , do cycle them. (there are many books about cycling of various drugs, not just steroids).
However most of the supplements are just nutrients, something that you could get from high quality food. Still I recommend cycling choline too, take it only on those days when you are studying. L-Phenylalanine is pretty good and safe too, combined with choline it produces a synergetc effect. If you decide to take those drugs and supplements, read a good book first (you can get one from life extension foundation). In superlearning2000 they just gave you a few supplemtns without explaining how to take them prpperly. For example, you have to take amino acids on an empty stomach to ensure delivery to the brain. Or if you take choline , take pantothenic acid with it in the amount 0.5 of the choline dose, take b6 and vitamine C with L-Phenilalanine. By 2.5 ounce they meant leticine in the superlearning2000. Do your own research before taking anything. Stay away from L-glytamine; there is too much controversy about it.

taking pills would tend to build a dependancy or crutch.

How will you know, if you never try?
Check it out: http://www.smart-drugs.net/ias-piracetam.htm
Piracetam has the reputation as the 'safest' prescription drug ever created. It's been around for 40 or so years and there's been 1000's of studies on it--thousands. In no instance has anyone ever experienced dangerous effects from it. This bears repeating: the 'safest' prescription drug ever, and it does not create chemical dependency.

As for crutches?
See, I really don't mind crutches. In an ideal world, we should all be born perfect, learn perfect. It's downright hard to learn to walk on your own. Our parents hold our hands, give us encouragment, offer their hands as crutches. Soon, we learn to walk on our own, and walking becomes second nature.

Smart drugs combined properly go way beyond any other conventional means in terms of raw power. ...except maybe totally replenishing sleep debt.

Eating well, drinking clean water, exercise and working on you inner self via meditation or whatever works for you, is all you need in life to be "All that you can be!"

Is not meditation also often used as a crutch? Let's use the metaphor of the quarry and the trap. Meditation is like setting a trap. One day, years from now, that trap catches it's rabbit. Great, you have the rabbit..what need now have you for meditation? Same thing. Meditation teaches you to spiritually walk as it were. True spiritual masters don't need to meditate in order to meditate if you catch my drift. They've caught the rabbit.. the trap is secondary. Crutches 'can' train you to perform at levels you otherwise would never experience.

Is 1200 mg of Lecithin too much/little?
Well, depends what you're after. I don't know that you'll experience much with just that a day. Granulated lecithin is much cheaper and more effective. Go for two tablespoons a day. ..yielding slightly over 3grams of choline. This is the way to go for raw power. Rocket fuel for the brain.

What would best compliment Lecithin? I heard Pantothetic Acid?

Smart drugs like piracetam and pramircetam use choline as their fuel. The more choline, the more effective are those drugs. Hydergine further increases effectiveness by increasing blood flow to the brain.

I'd like to end this with how scary this World is that ANYONE can walk into a drug store and buy things off the shelf without a prescription!

I guess. But those who are proactive need this option. Doctors and western medicine... they treat problems. When was the last time you went to a doctor to specifically improve something that wasn't broken? Very rare. There are drugs that proactively enhance what we already have...which makes me wonder about penis size...... lol. Anyway, a good example is the many anti-aging drugs out there like GHB (a hormone) that'll put you into the deepest sleep of your life...try 5 hours in NREM-IV sleep.. a couple weeks of that and you'll shave a decade off your age!

OOOOO......personal enhancements via medicine. Must becareful. Like Paul scheele said if we won't creat the time to read, even if we could read at 2million words per minuite, it wouldn't do any good. I agree. I've heard from many people who use nootropics and they say they do virtually nothing for them. Then again, I've heard of others who say 'genius in a pill'. The difference does not appear to be in the chemicals.. I'd have to say it's their person. What do THEY bring to the table? Sloth, bad habits, closed mind? Sorry. What's the use in have a well-muscled body if you never lift anything? You may as well be lean and scrawny, no? SDs will give you the muscles, but you still have to punch.

The problem with taking DAILY doses of Phosphatidyl Choline is that you may become psychologically dependant on it. Meaning you might feel that you need it inorder to learn.

Maybe... Maybe not. I take 3grams of choline a day in granulated lecithin. Sometimes I skip a couple days and I notice that the 'effect' doesn't go away. (as long as I get enough sleep). If you do what Nick suggests, and NLP-it to the shine, you'll first learn to walk with the drug, then in time, you'll no longer need it and you'll learn to walk on your own. It's the same with binaural beats and entrainment, actually.

cheers. brian.
