I am a beginning photoreader, but I have a goal to photoread the Bible. I haven't started yet. But here's how I was planning to break it down:
1. I was planning to break it down into sections (Torah, Historical, Poetic and Wisdom, Major and Minor Prophets, Gospels, Acts, Pauline Epistles, Remaining Epistles including Revelation). Since the bible is 66 books written by 40 men of God on compatible subject matter, I feel it would be best to approach it syntopically.
2. I was going then to preview by section, photoread by section, and activate by section. Super reading and dipping would be done by finding the headings that most fit the purpose of my time(for example, if my purpose for that portion of the Word was to gain a deeper understanding of Moses' life, I would super read and dip mainly in Exodus, finding the headings that most dealt with the events in Moses' life, not worrying too much about other areas. If devotional reading is my purpose, I would activate the Psalms or other poetic books.) Remember, if your purpose becomes modify at a later time, you can always do more super reading and dipping.
3. If recall by chapter and verse is what I want, then I would evaluate my purpose, establish specifically what areas I wanted recall, and then rapid read by chapter, slowing to regular read speeds on the verses I wanted to focus on, remembering to maintain state, and purpose. If it fits into my purpose, then I will remember it.
Well, anyway, that is my strategy. I plan to start in the next dayt or two. Like I said, I am no expert, I am a beginner. If anybody can think of a better way, let us know. RHarlow, let's make this a project. If you want, we can do it together, you can write me and let me know what is successful for you, anbd we can draw off of one another. I am a man of faith and the Bible is the single most important book in my life. I cherish with anticipation the time I will spend photoreading the Bible, getting the Word in me like never before.
