Hi there,

(This is aimed at able PR'ers)

***************************************
Approximately how long did it take you
to begin properly activating material?
***************************************

I bought the book and just started PR'ing
about 2weeks ago and have noticed a few
interesting occurances in my life.
I just need a little motivatio
I know learning a new technique takes
time. It would really be helpful to
know what timeframe is generally common,
though.

Thanks in advance!
Mu'ath.

well, it really depends on the kind of metarial. from my experience the easiest kind to activate metarial was my school books.i think it happened so because you get to have frequent exposure to this metarial. technical books that are loaded with small bits of info usually takes me more time(kinda duh )..with some small technical books with details i would usually prefer to read it normally (only if it would take me 20 min or so) because i know the system wasn't made for this part. if you'll tell me what kind of metarial you are aiming at i'll tell you what i have experienced.

What I really would like to know
is how long was it, after you started
using the PR system, did you sucessfully
use the activation step?

Or to phrase it another way...
1) You got the book/course/seminar.
2) Used the system properly with no success
3) Achieved success with the system!

Now, how long, (weeks, months, years)
did you get from point (2) to (3)?

Thanks again,
Mu'ath.

For me, it took about 2 weeks to get a good hang of it. Within the first week after taking the seminar in 1992 while I was in college, I noticed my study time was practically cut in half, and the material I was PhotoReading came together so much faster in class that it had all of first semester.

So, I'd give it about a month for it to become second-nature. After you learn how to PhotoRead, the quickest way to see results is to do all five steps on 5-7 books. Manually activate each book until it all "gels" and you have full comprehension, in 1/2 to a 1/10 of the time it would have taken with regular-reading.

If you have any questions, just search the forum, or post them here. Most all of us here know how to make it work!

i think i managed to fully activate a book effectively at the end of the course. (total gel, tape 7+ more time at it cause 10 min aint enough for most 300 books unless they are full of balony)

one of the problems as a photoreader is not to learn the system..to me that was the easy part. i think that integrating it is the harder part since it's harder to make it a part of your life and if you dont integrate it your skill won't continue to evelop. lets say that i think it took me about 6 months until i fully integrated it into my school assignments.

just do it

Thanks! You guys are great!

So I should do the works on 5-7
books for a month? OK. I'll fire up
the furnace and see what happens!

One other thing, the relaxation parts.
How relaxed is relaxed - how much alpha
do I need to be pumping out? I'm thinking
that because I can't completely relax,
my mind isn't picking anything up in the
photoreading step! Do you really need to
enter a full alpha state(bodily heaviness,
etc) to do the system successfully? I've
done quite bit of L&S training previously,
but find I can't get deep anymore :\

Am I a little too paranoid on the relaxing?

(I know I'm drifting off the topic!
But, the interconnectedness the universe,
and my mindfullness are waning each time
I unsuccessfully try to activate - I DO
still keep a highly motivated/positive
outlook though!)

Thanks guys,
Your help is immensely appreciated!
Mu'ath.

It took me a couple of weeks to get results. In the beginning it was a bit frustrating simply because I was looking hard for it! But once I decided to focus on tailoring the technique to what worked best for me, on top of having a "whatever" attitude towards achieving results, I became deliciously surprised to see that it works! (FYI: I only used the book for now)

I was also confused as to how relaxed I was supposed to be as well. With time I realized that as long as I am relaxed enough to go through the material without having that "I want to do something else now" feeling, everything will work. If I notice my concentration drifting away, I do not force myself to go on with it, but take a break instead until I feel like coming back. Relaxing gets a lot easier with practice, believe me.

Good luck!

rP

PS: Last week I was asleep in the middle of the night when I suddenly woke up and thought to myself: "Pete!". It turns out I slept with the living room TV turned on and my mind woke me up during the PR infomercial

Thanks Pete!

Now I'm getting a really good idea of
how to PR.

So, what must I think of while PR?
I don't like chanting at all - my
mind seems to drift into other thoughts
whenever I chant while PR'ing

And Dana, should I do the PR step only
in the month, or all the steps?

Again, you guys are terrific!
Thanks,
Mu'ath

How are you chanting? Are you using the "4-3-2-1" chant?

To master the basics, do all 5 steps on 4-5 books. Prepare/Preview/PhotoRead/Activate/Rapid Read

And, Prepare & PhotoRead as many books as you have time for. You'll naturally start drawing on the information even if you don't have a chance to go back and manually activate.

Hi Dana,

I'm using the Re-lax chant.

But my mind wanders a LOT!

(I'm an R&D guy at work - I have
to come up with really new ways
of doing things, so I spend 90%
of my time at work, thinking!)

But I'll try the 4-3-2-1 one...

You guys provide EXCELLENT support,
May you all get great things in return!

Thanks,
Mu'ath
