Hello. It's been a while since I last posted (actually, last time I posted was when LS had the old website and forums!). Unfortunately, I still haven't got around to learning the PR system, but I'm starting to get into it again now! I've also been listening to the Personal Genius and Memory Supercharger tapes over the last few days.

Right. On to the topic at hand.

The biggest problem I have is keeping the pages turning at regular intervals. I find that I turn two pages at once, or fail to get a grip on the page and just end up losing all rhythm. Can anyone give me advice on how they get around this problem?

Another thing is that I tend to turn pages from the bottom of the page. That means that my hand covers the words on the bottom half of the page. Is there a better way?

Thanks in advance...

Actually, never mind - I just found some answers in the archives:

In the home study course, Paul says not to worry if you turn 2 pages at once because it is more important that you keep your relaxed state. Have fun with it, just keep your concentration and realize you can go back through the book a second time and imprint the rest of the pages you missed in your mind very easily. It is not a big deal to miss a page.

As far as the technique for turning pages, he suggests to hold the left page down with your thumb and first finger on top of the page, and your other 3 fingers underneath the book. To turn the page, run your first finger of your right hand from the top of the spine to the outside of the top of right page, then flip it over and catch it with your thumb on your left hand. Bring your left first finger over the top of the page you just flipped, and repeat the process starting with your right first finger at the top of the spine.

Your right hand will sort of be making a circular motion, while your left thumb and first finger will appear to be "walking". Sounds complicated, but it is really very simple when you try it.

Good luck!

I attended a training session with Izzy Katzeff. He twisted the spine of the book first. The top twisting to the right, the bottom twisted to the left. This caused a "step" exposing the edge of the pages towards the front of the book. Also he uses the thumb to press down on the book as he pushes the thumb diagonally towards the top right hand corner of the book. This pressure seems to bow the page to lift from the rest of the pages enabling you to "catch" the top page.

Hope this helps.

But I must admit that i am still paranoid about skipping pages my self.

All the best

Will

Cheers, Will. It's a good idea, but won't it damage the book if you twist the spine?

No!!! The spline is very resilient. I tend to do this myself sometimes. The exact technique that will described for page turning is the way that I turn pages also, and it works!!!!
