I'm beginning with PR. I don't have any difficulty seeing the "blip" page. But after a PR session I don't seem able to get my eyes focused on the text again: everything remains blurry. This condition lasts for at least 30 minutes after a 5 minute PR.

Who can comment on this, it is starting to worry me.

The main principle behind PhotoFocus is RELAXATION. What you are describing is a straining of the eyes that requires significant recovery time...that indicates you are doing something radically wrong.

If you are sitting at a table, pull back a little and look down to your toes. If a book is on the table so that you can see the lower portion of the book, you will notice that it has a blip. Your eyes will be totally relaxed. You certainly can look at your toes for five minutes without blowing out your regular focus for 30 minutes...right? It should be no more strain than that!

My guess is that you are not diverging your gaze, but crossing your eyes. If you do you still see a blip, but you do it with strain rather than relaxation. I would recommend you not go for the blip...go back to the "Betty Edwards" technique: notice the four corners, an imaginary "X" and the white space (negative space) on the page. Better that than whatever you may be doing.

You might get someone to watch your eyes as you go into PhotoFocus to confirm my hypothesis.

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll check it out.

One thing I already tried was looking at stereographs (SIRDS / SIS types especially the ones that do not require crossed eye viewing). I've no problem "seeing" the hidden 3D picture. But after that the focus problem remains.

It feels as if my eyes remain "locked" into farseeing mode only. When I try to focus at a page (say 20 - 30 cm away) I can't see sharp.

Presently, after some more tries, the problems seems to lessen. Could it be that a little eye practice - or getting used to - is required?

I remember having that problem as well - though nowhere near as severe. I think that you just need time to strengthen your eye muscles.

I would like to hear if there are others who have focus problems after "seeing" hidden 3D pictures or blip page? My focus does also remain "locked" into farseeing mode for quite some time. Does it get better with time?

I have the same problem too.
I can now regain my normal focus for a while, but when I don't care my focus it jumps out to the infinity, and remains in that condition, as it would have my normal focus.

As Pau has said you're trying to hard. Relax your gaze and remember to blink as you turn the page.

If you're staying locked check that you're not going cross-eyed or straining. In fact if you have trouble regaining your focus stop looking for the blip use soft focus and the Imaginary X-technique.

If you want to practice expanding your peripheral vision watch TV side on. Most people already use it when driving.
