Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer photofocus STATE having big problems!

Hi and thank you all in advance for any ideas and suggestions.

Firstly, blip page? I am trying and think I am getting the blip page and have tried the 'x' method but when im 'photoreading' it doesnt feel like im in any state just trying really hard not to refocus on the page. Can anyone suggest how to achieve photofocus and methods found useful????

Rapid reading - is this really important?.

I have followed the methods in the book to be able to photoread and feel i am getting nowhere fast. It just doesnt feel like im learning anything and all the questions answered are throught the postview and raspid/speed read. This makes me feel like the actual photoread is pointless and all we are getting is a summary of the book through preview, review, postviews and rapid and speed reads.

PLease re affirm my faith as I really want this to work and dont feel it is.

Is anyone having good experiences like being able to recite books etc.???

Are we supposed to be able to read the print when in photofocus? I just dont see how any of it is going in as I cant get anything out!

You might wanna give the coaches a call at 1 800 735 8273 - it seems that there's a lot you don't get yet. Eventually, the whole system will gel.

Do a search on "photofocus exercise". I posted what helped me achieve photofocus. Hope it helps. Keep up the work. Also, even if you do not see the blip, you can still achieve excellent results from photoreading.

If you have the home study course, I think it might help if you go through the course a couple of more times. Also, slow down a bit. Your posts sound like you may have placed unreasonable expectations upon yourself for results with the course. You can't expect to be able to read like Pete in 3 days. He has been PRing for 15+ years now. Give yourself some time and play with the system, IT WORKS.

Photoreading is about broad patterns, not about reciting details out of a book. I saw Pete give a demonstration on TV where he actually gave detailed answers of a book or two after a few moments of photoreading--that didn't seem right to me. On the other hand, I have had telephone converse with Pete and he seems like a really straightforward guy. I'd hate to think he could be faking this kind of thing--in fact, I *don't* believe it, at least not at this time. I prefer to think that after working with it in a number of different ways over much time, that he found techniques to make photoreading patterns "click" very quickly.

As far as you are concerned Les Pauls, when you use photoreading, you are "filling in the blanks" of the book or article, so that when you want to use rapid reading and intuitively land at spots of interest to you, you are far more likely to do so, and in any case to quickly recognize if a spot is of interest or it is not.

I have found photoreading to be of most help when doing syntopic reading. Have you tried using Scheele's recipe for putting together different books to make a coherent report? It is *special*!!
