I have recently completed the Photoreading course. I have only photoread about 4 books so far. I am still struggling with photofocus during photoreading.
Because this step is the most unconventional of all of the steps, I want to make sure that I gain the maximum benefit during this stage before I discount it as useful. My questions are as follows:
1. I can see the blip page if I focus on the wall or some other object above and beyond the book itself, but when I direct my eyes to the center of the book, I loose it. I still try and maintain a relaxed focus and notice the whitespace (and as much of the periphery of the room) as I imagine an X accross the page. Is this alone sufficient to gain the full benefit of the photoreading stage?
2. I have read the forum extensively and have been practicing on those stereogram images on some of the web sites suggested. Unfortunately, I still have to mess around with each one in order to see the 3D image. I realize that I should get them faster as I practice, which I am doing, but am I destined to not get the full benefit of the photoreading stage until I master these things?
3. I have also read that the whole point of photofocus is to bypass the concious mind and let the other-than-concious mind photograph the pages. If this is true, is there another technique (other than photofocus-blip page) to bypass the concious mind and gain the same benefit?
Basically, am I going to have to wait until I can maintain photofucus before I see any miraculous results from the photoread stage or is there another way? I can't say that I have noticed an intuitive/magical knowledge of the book until I go through it several times with the activation (superreading, dipping, etc.). By the time I've done all that stuff, I'm pretty close to having just read the book in a conventional way?
I'm still keeping an open mind. I realize that I'm not going to master this technique right out of the gate, but according to the course, this step should be a relaxing, other than concious type thing anyway.
Any advice/comments and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
