I must admit I did not keep up with my PR over the summer. I am wondering if it is a bad idea to highlight while dipping? I find it is not hard to get back in my habits of PR but I am just curious if this might help me get a better grasp of technical reading? Any ideas let me know

Paul Scheele says it is alright to use highlighting as long as you use it correctly.

If you highlight with a mindset "I have to highlight this and this and this and go back and study it later because I'll never remember it" -that's the wrong approach.

You can use highlighting during your activation sessions, as long as your intent is to marks the points which enhance your learning, and you go back to Mind Map those points.

Good point Dana.

That sounds like a great, efficient way of getting to "know" somthing like a text book or something really technical.
