Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer faith or foolishness?

I wonder if I have set a goal that is unreasonable. I was recently laid off. I have a wife and 2 kids to support. I have decided to change careers entirely. I have been a composer at a multimedia firm for 3 years. Before I was laid off, I decided I want to become a financial planner/invesment broker. I order to do this I have to get 3 different licenses with the state. An insurance license (Group 1) and 2 investments licenses (Series 6 and 63). I have to do some really heavy reading to study for the licenses. The insurance book is about 250 pages. I don't know how big the other books are but I'm guessing they are about the same. All in all it's gonna cost me about $1000 bucks to pay for the licenses. Keep in mind I have no job and no income. I'm told it takes most people about 3 months to study this material. I am going to attempt it in about 3 weeks. I used some of my severance pay to buy the PRWMS course in the hope that I could learn how to photoread in about 1 week and then use the other 2 weeks to photoread my study materials. Oh, by the way I'm quitting smoking this week too. So now I have comitted to this crazy plan. This is my third day with the PR course. Do you think I can do it, or have I lost my mind? Any comments appreciated.

Speed in learning photoreading in my opinion depends on your learning style in the past. As to your learning it: You alone can discover for sure exactly how skilled you will naturally be at activating past experience and learnings into full photoreading skill.

I do think your outcome is shooting for the moon. I assume you are committed to this course of action, so... good on you for shooting!

Some of the positives are: you have a very clear outcome to work towards. You have a nice sharp timeframe to pace yourself within. You have strong external and internal motivations to learn. You can notice learning faster and with a sharper mind as you activate the information, because of the immediate payoff. You can play with it with total committment and engagement for the same reasons, and you can find dramatic increases in skills for it as well. You've really raised the stakes on yourself, so you must think it's possible deep down!

I know it will work. Be sure to mind map. When you get stuck, just let go. The paraliminal tapes will help- you probably have the memory one, get the personal genius one too.

Since you have such a strong reason for learning this stuff you'll learn it faster. Remember to study in small chunks and take frequent breaks and make your dreams work for you. Tell your mind to sort the information before you go to sleep at night.

I'm betting that you can, but it will take dedication. I ordered the course a few months ago and wasn't sure if I was suckered into the infomercial or not. After having completed the home course I was still a bit leery.... My results compared to Pete's ( on the infomercial) were significantly different. I had photoread a few books and had some 'ok' results. For whatever reason, I backed off of photoreading and continued to 'slow' read in my normal fashion. As expected, I returned to regularly frustrated state of a page every two minutes - mind wandering - little retention.

Two nights ago, I decided I would try photoreading again. I spent about a half hour performing the first few steps on the first night and about an hour activating on the second night.
With about an hour and a half worth of time spent I went through a 310 page book and I would say I have about 60% retention. Not too bad considering I am not practicing this skill in the least and I would say I was far from 'studying' the material I had just photoread last night.

I also recommend mind mapping and listening to the 'hypno-activator' tape.
With a little practice and dedication I'm sure you'll do well.
