I'm still trying to get through the course. I'm learning the photo focus part now. I have a lazy eye and i don't know if this is hurting my photo focus state. I've hopefully will help me. I'm wondering if this is ok.

i took a plain sheet of paper and put a black dot in the left center part of the page. I then enter the photo focus state. I do see the original dot and the second one, though it is alot dimmer and keeps drifting to the right part of the page and then i have to start doing it again. Heres the question. Do i need to try to keep that second dot in one place, if so where? Thanks for your help

You are supposed to see with your mind, not your eyes. Eye games won't do a thing, may be fun but that's it. Remember the funnel analogy. Lots of info all turning into one small focus, useless is screened out, useful get's thru.

Most of the words on a page are "the" "it" "a" and words like that. Important words are "seen" in high numbers and as Paul said, the pre-conscious processing starts and the information is churned. If you're hunting and you see 180,742 trees in your view, so what. You're looking for a dear. Speedreading is going like this, "tree, tree, another tree, tree, tree, ..." times a zillion times. PR is like just looking for the dear. Have you ever read a chapter in a book and you realize "I could have said all that in one sentence" well, that's basically what you're doing. Taking all that junk the author throws at you and stripping it down to it's core concepts as fast as can be done. If you want to spend more time on the "artistry" of the words, go ahead but don't do it first on any book.

I ordered the home study course yesterday, and I'm looking forward to giving it a whirl. I've been checking the forum for awhile, and I believe that I've heard other people say that with this, you sort of just pick out the important words. That's fine -- you really don't need to read "the," "and," etc. The only thing that concerns me is if I don't see the words like "not" -- small words that actually DO make a big difference.

Is this ever a problem? I'll guess it's probably not, but I'm just curious.

Thanks!
