Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer Key Words... Preview/Prepare

I've often found some trouble in picking up key words in books. I flip every couple of pages, flip about 15-20 then do a couple pages, then 15-20, etc etc etc.

I don't know really what is to be "key" in the book at that point and can only find say 8-12 out of 20-25 that is suggested. If I go through the book and can't find the amount I think I should have, is it reasonable to turn to the index and just pick up a few key words that seem to strike my interest, or that seem to be brought up throughout the book?

You can do that. I think it's more important to know what you want from a book before you read it and if you only get 5 words, maybe you just want to know more about those 5 things instead of more. In doing research for my book about Trend Trading I would pick up books and sometimes find what I want from the Preview alone. If you're reading something like "The Einstein Factor" and you want to learn everything in the book you'll find out that still you don't want to know everything, just what applies to your life RIGHT NOW. In a year you may read it again and find your ready for something else in it that you weren't interested in before. If you do find "you want it all" you will have to rapid read. Being the last step of Photoreading it saves time. Speedreading makes you do it first and most of the time is a waste. If I were you I'd preview and write down the words that jump out at you and leave it at that, no matter how few you get.
