I am very interested in meeting someone from the Tampa-St.Petersburg area (or Central Florida) who has "mastered" the art of PhotoReading to the point where he (or she) can demonstrate an ability to to read at a rate of between 8,000 and 12,000 words per minute with a comprehension level of 75% - which is less than half of the reading rate "advertised" by Mr. Scheele at PLS. I am willing to meet this person at a time and place of their choice, and I am willing to compensate such person for their time and effort.

I will be honest and state up front that I have serious reservations regarding the PhotoReading program. I would dearly love to have the capacity to read at such a level; however, it just seems too good to be true. My experience has shown more often than not that if it is "too" good, it's probably not true. Nevertheless, I'm willing to keep an open mind. [Since I just spent a couple of hundred bucks for the tapes and learning manuals, that's the least I can do for myself!] If someone can show me that they have attained a super-human reading skill that averages 10,000 words per minute with a comprehension factor of 75%, I will gladly pay all of their expenses and a fee that will make it well worth their time. My ONLY condition is that the person must not be connected with PLS or Mr. Scheele, or have any interest in the business operations of PLS or Mr. Scheele. In other words, I am interested only in working with someone who is totally objective.

If anyone is interested in answering my inquiry, please send an e-mail or call me at (727) 898-9009.

Thanks for your attention

Steve

I'll really appreciate it, if you let us know how your research went. I want to know if photoreading is worth the time that I'm planning to spend on learning it. I'm from Miami and I was planning to learn the system in December, which is after my last semester in college. I'm an accounting major and I was planning to use photoreading sturdy to sturdy for my C.P.A exam.

Thanks!

Thank you. I will send a note if I get any type of response. I was hoping that there might be a PhotoReading "user group" somewhere in Florida. It might help if you keep an eye out for someone in the Miami (South Florida) area.

I have a real concern about this method of inquiry. Even if someone was able to Photoread at the level that you would like to achieve and have 75% comprehension right afterwards, what would that prove? I refer you to pg. 15 of the Photoreading book where Pete Bissonette read over 690,000 wpm and had 75% comprehension. Even though he did it right in front of college professors, they didn't believe it. "Seeing is not believing. To shift your paradigm you must believe it before you see it."
I have some questions for you:
Why would you like to learn Photoreading?
What would happen if at the very beginning that you couldn't PR at 10-12,000 per minute but could get through your current reading at 3 times the rate that you do now?
From your posting, I think that even if someone did PR right in front of you, you would not pay their expenses and their time because you would not believe it.
So what if you took your Home Study Course and went through it with an open mind to see if it works for you? LSC back up their product with a money back guarantee which can be extended to 6 months. What if you get stuck in the course? Then that is when you call for coaching or consider attending a live class.
Yes there are individuals that can do what you said. Can I? No, not right now. However, give me a book and one half hour and have us both start reading. I can tell you more about the book then you could using "regular" reading methods. As one addiction counselor told me one time to "trust the process". Can you put aside your disbelief and just try Photoreading? You have NOTHING TO LOSE AND EVERYTHING TO GAIN.

I'm not going to bother hiding my typing style anymore. Besides, if you know who I am, odds are you read enough of these posts that I don't mind...

I agree with Myk...plus I would have reservations with meeting a stranger who may or may not compensate me and who I know already has one less thing in common with me (regarding photoreading).

Plus I'm not from Florida.

If you want to see an unbiased, realistic portrayal of PRing, get the news video. It's free, which is cheap enough for everyone!

I agree that this video is a hell of a lot more convincing than the infomercial, and it's only six minutes long. Plus it's realistic and it doesn't seem like Pete is downloading Charles Dickens into his skull like the chick from the Matrix.

The only thing I liked a lot about the infomercial is how friendly Pete looks. I remember watching it and going, "I bet that guy's a really nice guy...he wouldn't lie to me."

I was actually expecting Pete on the tapes instead of Scheele. And yes, this was a small downer.

But I digress.

It is evident that you do not understand the underlying purpose of my request.

I am not trying to "prove" anything and am not engaged in a "seeing is believing" exercise. Rather, I have only asked for the most commonly used "currency" in retail merchandising, namely, a referral to a fully satisfied customer. Most successful business enterprises (including mine as an attorney)owe a large measure of their success to the objective endorsements of satisfied customers and clients.

I am not interested or worried about losing money; the course guarantee covers that. Rather, my focus is more positive. I am only interested in determining if there is another person like myself (a professional who uses printed material extensively in pursuit of their career)who has succeeded in increasing his or her reading skill to a level of only half of the "advertised" rate. [I would trade my mother's bones if I could read at that level!]

I fully recognize that people learn at different rates and that there are numerous variables at work. My decision to proceed further and continue to work with the PhotoReading program is not an issue. I fully intend to do that. But that determination should not serve to make my inquiry regarding a possible contact with a satisfied customer irrelevant. If my search for an objective evaluation by someone who has been successful with the program proves to be an exercise of futility, common sense will certainly raise a cautionary flag.

Think about it. Before investing hundreds of hours of time in a project of improving my reading skill by a factor of 35 [I currently read at about 300 wpm X 35 = 10,500 wpm] involving a very unique and seemingly innovative product, what is wrong (where is the harm) of asking if anyone else has completed the same project [or one that was very similar] successfully?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Steve

I'm sorry, Stephen, I don't believe you.

If you were merely interested in seeing fully satisfied customers, the many people helping others on this board for absolutely no reason but keep them focused, would suffice.

But it doesn't. You want someone to sit in front of you and do it in front of your face so that they can prove that they can reach advertised speed.

You want proof.

If you want happy customers or people who can PR and give you their opinion on it, you'll find lots on this board. If you want a guinea pig to come out and read in front of you, I don't think you'll find any takers.

I'm sorry you don't believe me. That said, further comment from me to you is useless.

All I'm saying is that if you want "a referral to a fully satisfied customer" all you have to do is post the message "Any satisfied customers?"

But how can I believe that's what you want when I see this:

Topic Name: "SEEING IT WORK FIRST-HAND IN TAMPA-ST.PETERSBURG"
Followed by: "If someone can show me that they have attained a super-human reading skill..."
Then you say: "not engaged in a "seeing is believing" exercise"

First you say: "Since I just spent a couple of hundred bucks for the tapes and learning manuals, that's the least I can do for myself!"
Then you say: "I am not interested or worried about losing money"

I guess what got me upset was this:
You say: "In other words, I am interested only in working with someone who is totally objective."
I say: "If you want to see an unbiased, realistic portrayal of PRing, get the news video. It's free, which is cheap enough for everyone! http://www.learningstrategies.com/PhotoReading/Video.html"
To which you replied: "It is evident that you do not understand the underlying purpose of my request."

I understand that you're now saying you're not looking for proof, you want an unbiased, satisfied customer who has achieved the ability to photoread what was advertised, which was three times faster than he currently can. The reason I said to get the video is because it is common debate on here that the infomercial is misleading, and that when you said "read at a rate of between 8,000 and 12,000 words per minute...which is less than half of the reading rate "advertised"" I got the conclusion that you were mislead into thinking that in Photoreading you are to read at 25,000 words per minute. This is misleading. You PHOTOread at 25,000 wpm, and will have absolutely zero comprehension. You get comprehension upon activation, which takes more time.

Trying to help. Get the news video.

You didn't answer my questions Steven! Photoreading doesn't require drilling either, only use. Just try it! If you want a referral, you have one here. My only question is whether or not that you will use the same persistance that made you sucessful in business to succeed with Photoreading. I also agree with anonymous, get the news video if you want proof. Take the money that you would pay someone to visit you and go to a live class. Or call up Paul or Pete and pay them their going day rate for coaching! Your arguement has alot of holes in it counselor! Case dismissed!
