Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer HELP!

I took the course 2 yrs ago, but since I started Med School last year I had to start elementary reading again. The thing is that PR was taught to me in a way that I can't relate right now. I have to know almost every line the book has, and I can't rely on getting the main idea, not even having a GOOD idea..it has to be all in there to do good on exams. I read the PR book again to try to get things going but only found questions instead of answers. I don't want to be mean, but ever since LS started trying to SELL me everything they had at hand describing it as the "ultimate ...." I started thinking more about a business thing than really a scientific thing. Pete or anybody...can you tell me what part of the human brain do you call the subconcious?...has anyone ever done an electroencephalogram on a person while PR to tell me what part of the brain is in use?...plus, when you talk about the "bridge" between councious and uncouncious, are you talking about a neurologic tract? (Cerebello-cortical????)
Please if you can help me out, I'll be forever grateful. If someone who is in the same profession than me can give some tips on how they did it...
PS: That 10% thing about the brain is obsolete...it has been studied that we use much much more than that.

Ok, I can totally see where you're coming from. I am on my way to med school in 2 years and I know what is expected. I don't see, however, a reason to give up the process. My suggestion would be to superread and dip more than once or twice and make more detailed mind maps so you do get the information you need. Paul Sheele, I think, has done (and participated in) numerous studies of how the brain works. I do believe that they determined that the "subconscious" part of the brain is a part of the right half. Now, I'm no brain expert, but after I am finished PRing a book, the right side of my brain does feel tired and often sore. That's enough evidence for me to know that it works. As far as someone doing an EEG to see if it really does work, I really don't know but if it is/was done, I think it would be interesting to see the results.

The EEG is now giving me a more scientific view of it...but one thing about dipping.
If I have to dip in almost every line, it will be the same thing as reading normally!
What's the difference!...there will be no gain time-wise...every minute confuses me more! But, for the finals now on December I will give it a test...THE test...just relax and do it...when the grades are home, I will post them here.
