Disclaimer: I'm a newbie PR'er!
The point of focus thingy: how/why does it work? I know that the visual center of the brain is in the upper back portion of my head, so it kinda makes sense...but how can I be sure if I have a good eye-mind connection? And should I consistently be aware of the tangerine or the point, or should I become aware of it and then do whatever I need to do (preview,PR,activate, etc?)
Now a quesiton on activation. I find myself skittering/dipping at perhaps 30 seconds to a minute per page. I know that I subvocalize words, and sometimes I might even subvocalize whole lines at a time... I'm subvocalizing as I write this post now....will I become better at looking at patterns and feelings in word groups with more practice?
I guess I'm almost rapid reading chapters instead of trying to activate them....
do I just need to move my eyes faster and skitter down the page instead of reading the first and last sentences and skitter the rest?
I find alot of things I'm drawn to in the book I'm reading now, especially anecdotes, which I don't understand if I just blast my eyes across the page...I have to dip in and subvocalize them to get the meaning. The anecdotes are relevant to my purpose, by the way.
Oh yeah, I have this rather weird activation technique for anything I write down. My handwriting is messy, so I read my writing often by remembering what I wrote down...the messy words activate the memory in clarity.
I don't understand how to do rhythmic perusal. It sounds nice: kinda like a laser going across the top half of words, not subvocalizing, maintaing a "soft focus" (what does that really mean? Surely not Photofocus...does it mean being aware of your hands and the corners of the pages?)
But how do you actually do it?
I find that from super reading I get almost no concious information from most of the text except certain areas to which I'm drawn...often multiple areas per page.
What am I doing wrong? How do I take advantage of the fact that I have PR'ed the book?
I know my subconcious mind is processing the information I PhotoRead. Recent dreams of late have given me evidence of that...though the information in my dreams is often not much related to what I photoread, even through symbolic analysis...however emotions I feel when I awoke in the middle of the night were partly due to my reaction to the feelings in the books.
should I really try previewing and photoreading 3 books per day? Or should I photoread one book 3 times per day?
Or, do I need to PR it multiple times, like in the 5 day plan?
Thanks,
