Somebody should bring this to the attention of this company. I cannot believe they let this go.

I was enthusiatically listening to the program when at the very first tape, I hear the instructor, a Ph.D, say "between you and I" instead of the correct "you and me."

I am sorry for the author. In all honesty, it just threw me off--it's embarassing. No one who has an advance degree should be caught with this glaring mikstake. It puts doubt on ones credibility.

I felt cheated and I just lost my respect to the instructor and the whole program.

Please revise and do attend mistake!

I think it's a little silly to lose respect for a person or an entire company on a grammatical error.

I mean, if you want to be that anal-retentive, I could say, "it's mistake, not mikstake," and also "in one's credibility, not on ones."

But then that would be immature, wouldn't it?

Geepeeone,

You are absolutely correct. Persons taught in traditional grammer tend to use "I" more often than "me"- even when they are not supposed to. Quite likely, if the instructor in question is modest, he will probably laugh at himself upon seeing such an obvious mistake.

By then way, when reading your post, my mind drifted to an image of a butterfly. Did you know that a butterfly (and even a moth) can fly with over one half of a wing damaged or removed? When looking at a butterfly with such a condition, few would deny the fact it is still beautiful. And if you saw a butterfly in such a condition fly, your admiration for that butterfly would in no way be diminished.

There are probably many more mistakes in the program in question than the one you discovered. But does that mean the program does not work? Can we deny the fact that the products from LSC have improved the lives of many who have used them?

I did not go to college. However, I do have friends who have advanced degrees such as, M.D.'s, Ph.D.'s, etc. Despite their failings, including grammar, they are still good and competent people.

Stop and smell the roses- even if they are partially wilted.

Regards,

BSR

"...and do attend mistake."

gee geepeeone perhaps you should take heed of the old saying that refers to removing the plank from your own eye before tending to the one in your brother's eye.

Don't be so damn critical of a little miktake!

Have not you got something better to do than to rant on about grammar?

OR

Haven't you anything better to do than to gripe about something so insignificant?

Same question, different ways of expressing it. English comes from a combination of Latin, Germanic and Greek languages. So, the grammar of English isn't as simple and one can express the same answer in many different ways and still be understood. Is not English Great?
P.S.
the professor is correct, it is 'between you and I' not 'between you and me'

Let's see:

Think about how many tapes have already been made, how much it costs to rent out an audio studio to make a tape, to mass produce the updated tape, to compensate Scheele to re-record it, to pay to announce and advertise an updated copy, and to hire someone else to review the entire system and look for more corrections just because you are so picky that you simply CANNOT fathom learning the system due to a what is a COMMON grammatical error of speech.

Please. I can't believe there's actually a thread for this. Next, we'll all go through all of our posts and edit them so there's no errors there, too, so people checking out the archives will have the ability to swallow all of our suggestions despite some of the typos using "lets" instead of "let's".

Get a life.

Tell me about it.

Dana, the following is a paragraph full of grammatical errors:

"Say, Bob, lets went to the party. My friends is over they're, and its not kewl to leave them hangin'."
