Here is the issue. I cannot see in stereo. My left eye is a lazy eye and my right eye is dominant. I can see stereograms but only if I get close to the stereogram, force my eyes to cross, then focus on the gram. I cannot view the gram just by staring as a gaze. With this fact, can I photoread or is it a lost cause

You won't be able to do the conventional photofocus, but there are people who are blind in one eye are able to Photoread using a different method, so I believe you'd do fine.

From what I understand, there are only two advantages of having a photofocus/blip:

1.You don't exactly see the words, so it helps keep your conscious mind off of the reading material and thus prevents it from interfering the 'soaking in'.
2.Your field of vision widens to cover the entire reading page.

If you can still somehow manage to accomplish the above two without the photofocus, then you're still fine. Make sure you aren't trying to consciously read the words as you PR, and make sure you can see the corners of the page/book so that you are able to 'see' the entire book/page while keeping your eyes still.

Also, don't try too hard. If you 'force' your eyes into crosseyes, then you won't be able to relax--the crucial element to the entire alpha state.

Don't worry about the blip. That was actually one of my biggest worries- no blip, no pr. It's not true.

The other day just for fun, I played the dictionary game under less than ideal circumstanses: poor light, poor flipping rhythm (I was holding the book in my hand at an odd angle), and no blip after the first page. Guess what? I succeeded at 4 out of 5 words. The next day 2 out of 3 words.

The important thing is either have belief the system works or curious to see how it will work for you.

I also found it good to be totally relaxed (3-2-1...you know the drill). Some poster suggested rolling your eyes up while they are closed in order to get into alpha state. It is a great idea. I have been doing it ever since. Give yourself a moment or two just to stare into outerspace- through the book. I will sometimes do a quick check by placing one of my fingers in different areas of my periphery. That way, if I can see them, I'm not cross-eyed (the opposite of photofocus).

....What are you waiting for? Pick up the dictionary and prove to yourself you can do it..have fun!!

One thing that helped me, after I noticed it, was reading in an area with a tiled floor. Because you know what the pattern should be based on angle and distance, it's a lot easier to use X-Ray Vision to look through the center of the book, through the table, and onto the floor itself. I don't see the blip, because when I do the photoreading step I take off my glasses. The blur helps.
