Depends a little on what your looking for...
If you want to know it in such a way that your remember names, dates, and so on, it gets tricky...see, it's one thing to know who killed who, as opposed to knowing when. Numbers are tricky to remember, even in traditional studying...heck, even facts in general are tricky to remember in traditional study.
What I would do is PR the book and activate a couple times, doing this every day for 10 days (the time span you allotted). Use mindmaps, and I would also use memorization methods (eg Harry Lorraine, pseudonumerology) to memorize factual stuff like numbers and dates.
They're both pretty effective, though someone trivial except on tests. I mean, it's becoming less and less important to remember facts nowadays, as more people are just willing to write the bloody thing down. Using pseudonumerology, I've memorized over 200 digits of pi in a day or so (half-as*ed attempt, probably could have gotten more), but there's really no point to it.
Summary:
