Hello everyone,
After i finish my exam (1,5 week from now) i am willing to devellop a photoreading helper software, it'll be in gpl (totally freeware).
Here are some of the features i am going to implement:
*Import any text (txt, pdf, html, rtf) and 'photoread' it with a stereogram background + ability to set exposition time and length of text displayed
*Activation help: by randomly making some cloze deletion + export to superMemo
*Activation help: by randomly mixing lines/paragraphs and asking you to put them in order
*Keyword highlighting
*Auto summarizer and paragraph exctracting
*Set of randomly choosen questions (much like any creativity tool eg 'what is the main story? who are the main characters ? how am i going to use this data ? etc...)
(maybe)*MindMapping tool

And here are where you all enter the project:
if you have any request upon features, i would be glad to implement them

Developing a mind mapping tool sounds like a really great idea. There are some commercial mind mapping programs available, but they are not very flexible, and not very cheap either.
I wanted to develop a mind mapping program myself, but I could never find enough free time.
I would be happy to give you some suggestions about the functionality of the MM program. I'd even like to participate in the project.
I am not clear about the description of your photoreading and activation program, though. Would the program create 'blip pages' on the screen, and then change pages at certain time periods?

You can try out stereoreading here http://www.debateit.net/stereoreading/index.htm

Information on stereoreading here http://www.debateit.net/stereoreading/info.htm (might be worth looking at before you try steroreading)

To make your own stereo reading page intructions are here http://www.debateit.net/stereoreading/makeown.htm

I'd have to admit I wouldn't use software for reading.

Alex
