Your doing well. It gets even better with practice.

If the book had 36000 words it would take the average reader at 200 wpm at least 3 hours to regular read. (200 page books usually have 50,000+ words so would take even longer really more like 4.5 hours)

At first your activations may seem take a little long. Try setting a timer for 30 minute session. what you didn't get the first 30 minutes you give yourself another 30 till you feel you got it/ or had enough of it.

You're on the right track... keep up the good work, if you keep practicing can you image how much better you'll get - wow

just practice and practice. It will start to shed some time in a while, the biggest thing is not to let it bother you when it doesnt.

hey, how about a story....

Okay, so we are reading To Kill a Mockingbird in school (one of the best books I have read more than once, public schools and the idiots in it....grrr). I was only on the 8th chapter at the beginning of class, about pg 90 and by the end of class I had read (no photo before hand) into the high hundreds. That is in an hours time AND I had to take 10 chapter quizes for the first 11 chapters, so I think I did very well.

Thats not slow reading, that like skim reading, Stop and Go.
