Well, I finished tape 5 and Mr. Scheele says that super reading and dipping can be used in sections, but rapid reading is used from the beginning to the end.
I was reading other posts to see if I could gain info from there, and I was interested in another alex's reply when he was listing the books he read and how he had read 3 books in one day, one including harry potter #3.
Alex, How did you read that ?
If Mr. Scheele says that you need to rapid read the entire book beginning to end what did you do ?

It was a novel that I chose to rapid read from beginning to end after photoreading. I could have applied superreading and dipping if my purpose were to know all I can from the book in the shortest possible time. I know in 20 minutes I would have had an understanding of the story, themes, characters, the location and setting of the story with an addional 20 minutes I would have found the sequence of events and highlights of the story.

The purpose of reading this particular book was for entertainment. I usually don't read novels and since photoreading has enhanced my reading skills I felt like "wasting time".

The Photoreading steps are not rules set in gold for all your reading material or purposes. They are ment to be adapted to you needs. Your experience with photoreading over time increases your reading speed on all material whether you photoread or not. It mainly trains you to go into your reading with a purpose. Decide what you want to get out of the book or what you read and then read to fill that purpose without getting sidetracked.
